It would make sense for a company that makes many of thier knives in Japan to do a traditional Japanese blade.

You said you had to drill the holes out. Does he not make any specifically for Spyderco's three hole setup? How hard is it to mod it to make it fit?

This is good news indeed. Thats the only reason I don't carry a whole lot of G-10 is because my jeans can't handle it. How much are they? Can you get some that are specifically made for the Para or any other Spydies?

So, looks like the consensus is that bolsters CAN add some strength over something like, as Sal said, FRN, but are not made specifically FOR the purposes of adding strength. In general, it's to the contrary- they are normally made simply for looks and a touch of class.

Sorry Jackknifeh, I would have to bet that any "strength" bolsters add with most knives is probably trivial at best. It's more for maybe a sturdy feeling, or perhaps the perception of a "higher quality" knife to some, but bolsters are generally added for appearances- not strength. However, I will ...
