Holy Cow! In the Spyderco catalog, the C80GBK sold for under $50 when it was discontinued.

Pretty good "Return on Investment".

I've noticed that it's a delicate balancing act. That is, choosing a knife that's large enough to be useful, yet not too large to creep everyone out at the office. I know for sure that if I were to show up with a large scary-looking "Silence of the Lambs" knife, I would be instructed by Human ...

I did not intend to step on any toes or the like. I just meant that if *I* was not happy with the knife, then *I* would return it. That's all.

Sorry if it sounded that I was complaining or bad-mouthing anything or anyone. Just sayin' what I would do.

I can only say what *I* would do (yep, I'm the lone voice here).

I would return the item for two reasons:

1) You should get what you pay for and I'm quite sure Spyderco would agree.
2) Sypderco would NOT want a knife like that one sold. That is, they have a VERY good reputation concerning their ...

To me the action is a lot like spreading mayonnaise on a slice of bread. Just don't press too hard and not too much of a angle.

Just don't give up please; you WILL master this and it is a cool skill to have for those of us with sharpening-OCD. Best of luck

Daryn,

Fox Pepper Spray. Period.

Assuming that your 50 year old mother will slash her way out of danger may not be realistic.

Altough WE love them, Spiders may not be a real "chick-thing". And, it's my belief that they're WAY down the list of choices for security options for a 50 year old lady ...

Whoa, that's in a really bad spot , it may be tender for quite a while.

However, it gives you a really-cool story to tell, which, as we all know, is MUCH more important.....

Although, I would change the story *just a little*, something like, "Well, there I was, there was seven of them- little ...

I care as well, Gull WIng.

You know, there's just something about doing a job with a wonderful tool <insert joke here> like a spider.

Sometimes, when I'm working on something, I'll think to myself, "Dang, I like this knife!". Especially when they work so wonderfully at their assignment.

Sharpening advice needed.... [pic]

Well, I thought I was a pretty darn good knife sharpener. Yessireeebob. I took in and did the knives for the neighbor-ladies and all the family, they loved it. Their knives would slice paper and hair and all that gee-whiz stuff we knive-sharpeners love to show off. Yeah, I thought I was pretty darn ...

Which steel is easiest to sharpen?

Hi, I have carried a Spyderco everyday for the past 15 years, but now it's time to buy a full SE blade for the first time.

My question is this, due to the additional complexities of sharpening the serrated edge, can anyone recommend a steel that is easier to sharpen? It does not need long edge ...
