I am working on a trade and i might get a Captain or Yojimbo (blue) in return (both are NIB). So i have two questions.

1) which knife do you prefer and why

2) which has more "re-trade" value if i decide to move it later.

Congrats on the new knife. You can still find them online "on sale" for about $110, so $92 is a good price. I dont know what the price was at most online dealers but the sites that have them "on sale" say the knife was originally in the $175 range. Ive always kinda liked the Herbst but never loved ...

no i dont have any pics of the knife but i bought it at a spyderco dealer and it came with the box and paperwork.

Also i can get all the steels ive tried hair shaving sharp with my DMT its just that the VG10 looks at paper and dulls. The chipping has occored cutting 1/4" - 1/2" thick rubber. i didnt hit cement metal or anything else. My friend chipped the Crap out of his Nav but he was cutting up some shingles ...

I have read a fair amount on this forum about spyderco's use of VG-10 and from everything i have read many of you love it and rate it better then the likes of 440c/154cm/ats-34. i thought they were supposed to be out by now so i went to Croc blades to see about ordering one and they only had the option to preorder. The availability date space said this: "Expected Date: 09/15/2007" that seems more like september then august to me. Does anybody know the holdup?
