I think thickness should correspond to the width of the handle, if it´s too flat I don´t like it. A good thickness/width ratio would be about 1/2-1/3 and the handle should be nicely rounded.

I like the shape of my Jess Horn lightweight I´ve been carrying it daily for three years now. The false edge is perfect for opening letters. I´m sad to see that this particular model is discontinued.
