Maxamet is only 67% iron
And REX 121 is under 60% iron
from known data Rex 121 has 59% Fe

The lowest content is MPL-1 with 58,2% Fe

If Spyderco only sold mules to "qualified testers", they'd probably only sell less than 100 mules...

Re: Ideas for revamped mule team

I understand, but there is no reason to buy a mule in a common steel simply because there are millions of knives in common steels all over the world and sometimes they have a better price and better attributes than the mules. The mules have only one purpose: to test exotic steels, which you would n...

Re: Ideas for revamped mule team

Look at the mules that are now in stock: those in A11 are the only ones quite out of the ordinary. Would you buy a mule in 20CV without a handle and a sheath knowing that you can find this steel anywhere in the knives world at a better price and at a better F&F(which is not very difficult)? I’m...

Re: Ideas for revamped mule team

Typically means nothing. Don't mix reason with tradition. Since when the accused has less rights than the accuser? Are not you supporting a theory against my theory? Therefore if you have no evidence you can not tell me I'm wrong because "typically the burden of proof lies with the person maki...

Re: Ideas for revamped mule team

The Mule Team was sold only consumer direct. We never wrote a warranty for it, but we generally took care of customers if they has a problem. On the 52100, when we first began the Mule Team project, 52100 was very rare in production knives. Most 52100 knives were forged as the steel typically came ...

Re: Ideas for revamped mule team

I have never seen a mule warranty. Ask Sal, and if i am wrong I'm ready to correct myself. Typically the burden of proof lies with the person making the claim. I'll assume you just made it up until then. Typically means nothing. Don't mix reason with tradition. Since when the accused has less right...

Re: Ideas for revamped mule team

Where did the "no warranty on mules" part come from, I've not heard that before? I don't know what warranty claim I would ever have on a fixed blade blank, but at the least, the story behind the Cruwear mule recall shows Spyderco stands behind this product just as they would with anything...

Re: Ideas for revamped mule team

You have to look at the value for money. the mules are small fixed blades without scales, without sheath, and above all without warranty. Any other knife in 20CV will cost more but has all the things the mule does not have. But the price was not the point of the situation Where did the "no war...

Re: Ideas for revamped mule team

Perhaps marketing inexpensive mules, maybe with handles and sheath, in a much cheaper steel as a do-it-yourself knife kit where the blade can be subsequently upgraded to a limited run super-steel (to outgun your mates) could invigorate demand? Look at the mules that are now in stock: those in A11 a...

A stupid question on the Hundred Pacer

Soon there will be my birthday and I have decided that I will give myself a Hundred Pacer; however, in some videos I saw I noticed a certain distance between the scales and the blade, which I see in all my ZTs, and I suspected that the hundred pacer has ball bearings in the pivot. I spend a lot of t...
