Re: Putman scales
Do these orange Putman scales collect dirty easy? If so, are they easy to clean or do they stay dirty?
Just something I was wondering as I just did 3 knives with these.

I agree with the above. They do break in and trying to adjust anything before the knife is broken in can possibly cause more work in the long run. When I take a new knife out of the box the first thing I do is clean the blade and bearing surfaces ( not the bearings on a flipper but the smooth part ...

New Spyderco Manix 2 out of the box - Does it need oil?
Does a new Manix 2 fresh out of the box need oil or is it good to go?
I'm no expert on knives but the action seems a little stiff on this one. Will it loosen up over time or does it need to be taken apart and oiled?
I'm a noob so don't beat me up too bad.

Changing Scales on Manix 2 - Any Tips on removing the screws safely?
Want to put some different scales on my Manix 2 but I'm worried about stripping the screws with all the red loctite Spyderco is using.
Anyone have any solid tips how to safely remove these screws? I'v heard soldering iron, hair dryer ETC and just don't know.
Thank for any help you can provide.
