Re: S390

All ~5% vanadium steels with lots of tungsten and different levels of Mo and Co. Not too extreme on the vanadium, but a nice blend that could make them great steels for knives. If the regular T15 is the easiest/cheapest to source maybe focus on that. http://www.zknives.com/knives/steels/steelgraph.p...

Oh sweet, good news for some of us Europeans :D
They ship free worldwide at that price. Good store!
Now if only US stores would do the same for us Europeans....

Currently 4 in stock, these won't last long.

Re: S390

I am very interested in this steel. I mentioned it before too. I'd love any T15 type steel like S390 but also great would be S290, Vanadis 60 or HAP72.

I'd rather wait for the Micarta Shaman myself. But i hope this one sells well so we can see more sprints in the future. It's a great knife design!

Re: Shaman Sprint ?????

As much love as K390 has been getting recently and since Sal said there is a K390 P4 light weight in the works, would y'all rather see micarta and K390 or micarta and Cruwear like what has been mentioned???? Hamilton K390 was part of the original polls last year and Cruwear won above everything els...

Re: Help needed in steel choice: PM2 CruWear vs Rex 45 vs Maxamet

Is it the old grey sprint run or the newer black KnifeCenter exclusive? I really like those smooth scales on the KC exclusive. It's the older grey sprint, I love the color! Aaaaaaaaand I also got the Rex 45 god **** it the guy came with all 3 when we met up and I just couldn't, I had to have it aft...

Re: Para 3 Lightweight Exclusive/Sprint Hopes

K390 or some T15 type steels like S390, S290, Vanadis 60, HAP72. These can go like 68-70HRC. I'd like a more extreme REX45 steel.

Re: Help needed in steel choice: PM2 CruWear vs Rex 45 vs Maxamet

Maxamet will last longer than rex45, and much longer than cruwear in both coarse and fine edge holding. I also don't understand. In these tables, for Rex 45, molybdenum carbides are similar to Rex M4 and Rex 45 cobalt carbides are missing ? Cobalt is not a carbide former. I'm not a steel chemist in...

Re: Help needed in steel choice: PM2 CruWear vs Rex 45 vs Maxamet

How is Rex45 not a buffet of carbides? And leftover elements. Larrin did the calculations. https://knifesteelnerds.com/2018/11/19/steel-edge-retention/ https://knifesteelnerds.com/2018/11/26/steel-edge-retention2/ https://i0.wp.com/knifesteelnerds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/bonus-carbide-volume...

Re: Help needed in steel choice: PM2 CruWear vs Rex 45 vs Maxamet

I've decided. I'm getting the Cruwear, Rex seems to be very similar to Maxamet, which I will be getting later anyway, once it will be available again from Spyderco this year. Thanks guys! Cruwear is great stuff. You'll love it. Is it the old grey sprint run or the newer black KnifeCenter exclusive?...

I like Cruwear a lot, but i like REX45 just a little more due to the higher hardness.

Re: Sal, are there any plans for another K390 knife?

I'd love to see some more K390 (or S390, S290).
Chaparral and Para 3 please :)

Re: Para 3 vs paramilitary 2

I own em both too and i prefer the Para 3. Blade is big enough for what i need to do most of the time and the handle fits my hand even better than the PM2. The Para 3 is also less threatening among non knife people. I have a Military in my jacket/coat that is with me most of the time so if i need a ...

Re: Which Golden made design for 15V debut?

I'd rather have K390 than 10V.
Or how about some S390 instead of going for all Vanadium steels. Seen some Russians get that up to 70 HRC.

How so?

It's my favorite material wise. I really like the smooth G10. It's just not my favorite color.
