Re: Lil Native

To heck with what steel. I’m still holding out for the slip joint version. My fingers are crossed that it’s still happening, and going to be sporting a split spring like the HH UKPK.

Re: So I stripped a pivot screw.

The spydie chef has two actual screws on each side. Both sides can be removed. The only spyderco knives that has a fixed sided D pivot, are the ones with a dome or "show" side that you can't turn anyway. Roger that. Thanks for verifying. I think my confusion comes from not having known the differen...

Re: So I stripped a pivot screw.

I don't have a Spydiechef so I'm not familiar with those screws. You're certain one side isn't just thread locked really good? I think this may be the case I had with my chef. Apologies for misinformation :o Lil Nilakka is def two screws, but I absolutely cannot separate the lock side screw from th...

Re: So I stripped a pivot screw.

I don't recall ever seeing one that had a screw head that wasn't actually a screw? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the topic here. The Military had a dome head on one side and lots of knives were like that back in the day. I know for sure the screw I stripped is in fact a screw because I have another Ca...

Re: So I stripped a pivot screw.

Have you ever encountered a Spyderco with a D slot for the pivot or body screws where the outer hollow "nut" portion had a Torx, Allen, or Phillips head? My experience disassembling Spydercos is admittedly limited, but any such fasteners I've encountered had simple flat or domed heads, so no way yo...

Re: Tanto PM2 Support Thread

BladeHQ announced this will be a BladeHQ Exclusive. :spyder: Well crapola. This tanto will go the way of the dodo for me then. As in I won’t be able to get one. Will def try though. Fingers crossed it lasts longer than 5 mins. But wouldn't it be crazy to put all the work, time and effort in designi...

Re: Swiss army

Check out Felix Immler on YouTube. He’s got the best Swiss Army knife videos. He does a lot of project vids, but also talks a great deal about the many different/multiple uses for each tool. So many vids. Here’s one with 13 different uses for the hook.

Re: Sprints

Wasn’t there an issue some time ago, with an orange military sprint? Where Spyderco started to offer one for reg production, called it safety orange, and then everyone got mad because they felt that the original sprint was then de-valued?

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Great to hear! I think that and the Shaman or a fixed blade will end up being my new hiking combo. Just checked and they're still in stock through spyderco directly! I pair up with the Junction on hikes and the Province while camping. Of course, I’ve only had the Province on one outing and ended up...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Nice pair. I have contemplated the WolfSpyder but haven't bought nor handled one. I've always thought it was a neat little knife, but couldn't find it for a reasonable price anywhere. Then not long ago I had some store credit from Spyderco, and saw they actually had them in stock. Today was actuall...

Re: Sprints

Users will say this is a great idea. Collectors will cry that it reduces their value. Well if they could solve the issue of people gaming the system it would go a long way for others to get them in the 1st place. Limiting them doesn't seem to work either as some people end up with a lot of them (ga...

Re: CPM SPY27 steel

I noticed the msrp of the manix lw w/spy27 is a lot higher than the msrp of the manix lw w/rex45. Do you all think that’s because the steel itself is more expensive, or that it is harder to work with(i.e. grind, finish, etc)? Probably just economies of scale coming into play. SPY27 is a lot newer t...

Watu is my favorite. But dang, so many to choose, so it’s a narrow margin.
