Re: Temu - 33 Layer Damascus VG10 Core
Ok to buy from Temu but don’t download the app (read a bit into it a while back) Plenty on google about it. https://time.com/6243738/temu-app-complaints/ Have bought a few things over time with a 50-50 of things being good or rubbish quality. Also a 50-50 chance of the thing ordered being the same a...

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?
Yes, I'd carry any of my 3-4 inch folders in public that I now carry at home. In my part of Aus it is not lawful to carry any folder (not even a tiny Vic Classic) unless "for a good and specific reason". "General utility" is not a good reason. :eye-roll Come up to Northern Austr...

When you have Bar Keepers as a friend, it doesn’t matter what steel you use…..
The steel that is blowing me away lately is not Magnacut it’s SPY27 and I live in tropical Northern Australia where I have to cut through the humidity to get out the front door this time of the year.

Re: Your Ideal Folder for Hiking & Backpacking is....
I’m a fixed blade, if I’m hiking or backpacking. One of many Mules I have put a handle on or even a junction. Have plenty of smaller fixed blades that are the size of a folder and even lighter skeleton blades. https://files.catbox.moe/4fdds0.jpeg I LIKE that knife. I like skeleton handles too. What...

Re: Family friendly jokes
John invited his mother over for dinner one evening. During the meal, she couldn’t help but notice how attractive his roommate Judy was. She had been suspicious of a relationship between her son and his roommate for quite some time, but this only made her more curious. She watched the two of them in...

Re: Sharpening for kitchen use
As a Ex-butcher. That still has all my dads stuff and mine. 1) steels are all good as SAL explained above. 2) You should use straight dishwashing liquid withe the stones for best effect. Rinse with water after 3) If the stones are old like my dad’s, they are good stones and worth keeping. If they ha...

Re: Gayle Bradley 2 Cru-Wear vs Gayle Bradley 2 M4
Have the GB1 but would pick the GB2 in M4 of the two. The old M4 is hard to sharpen myth still gets banged around, but compared to several newer steels it’s a breeze. M4 wins on edge retention over Cruwear. But either steels is a winner in a GB2 it’s is basically what you prefer. Zwear GB2 would tak...

Re: Mystery Box
Got my $250 box, not the Shaman I was crossing my fingers for but very happy. The cheap Uptern is surprisingly a neat little knife. The Manix will be an immediate user to test SPY27. The PM3 I am not sure what I will do with, already have two PM3s and it seems almost too nice to use. Thanks for the...

Re: Is there a reference table for all the models?
Pretty much you can search google and get a YouTube video and pictures on any 2 or 3 models.
Police v Endura etc…
Last time I wanted a quick reference for two models there was 10+ videos on the topic, some 17 minutes long

Re: Mystery Box
Spyderco makes a lot more knives I don't like than knives I do like, so buying a mystery box was never even a consideration for me. I do think it was a bit misleading on Spyderco's part to say the $400 boxes would contain a premium knife when the majority of the $400 boxes I've seen posted do not c...
