Re: MAXAMET VS. GIRLY STEELS

never, ever use the flat sides of the rods. Could you elaborate on that, please? Because in my free-hand experience I was able to get a mirror polish on the UF's flat side. By the way, constantly putting on a microbevel creates a problem in the long term - sooner or later you'll have to reprofile t...

Calypso? The full-size? It never had any interesting sprints!

Re: Other Maxamet Knives?

A Maxamet Manix XL would be great. Big and thin. Or a Military, but it's too thick to be a cutter and I've already got three of these.
The Military is a great all-rounder, but I think we can all agree an Endura cuts better. I don't have a Manix yet, but I think it's the same.

Woo-hoo, Caribbean specs! And they are of adequate size! Gotta get that sheepsfoot.
But where is the Police 4?

Re: Super Steels with serrations?

High Rockwell steels are prone to chipping, and serrations are dangerous for them. Stuff like 3V, 4V or Cru-Wear could probably handle them.

Isn't a Military with a Power Lock just a smaller, stronger Police?

Re: Another Military Thread

I'm not really sure to respond to that. Outside of how well a steel takes an edge I can't say a steel feels more aggressive during cutting for me. AUS8 cuts aggressively as ****....for a few feet worth of cardboard. But freshly sharpened the AUS series cuts as aggressively as anything else I've tri...

Re: Another Military Thread

Can anyone recommend me a military version to buy and try? My budget is fairly generous, so I'm more interested in trying out one of the best examples, rather than getting a less expensive one. Should I just go with the s110v Blurple? Get whatever suits your fancy. I'd suggest a couple but what wor...

Re: Wharncliffe Delica, is it perfection?

Will there be a wharncliffe Endura? Small knives get all the blade profiles!
And no, the upcoming sheepsfoot Caribbean is not the answer. No one knows the size, and the tip in that shape is way less effective.

Re: Sal - Is the Military 2 still happening?

The S110V has had the new changes since it was released (as do all the new sprint runs). When the 2017 catalog dropped it showed the changes on the entire Military lineup. S110V isn't really a sprint, though, it's produced alongside the base version. If you ask a seller for pictures of the knife, t...

Re: Sal - Is the Military 2 still happening?

Hi Vivi, We have a design, having trouble fitting it in. sal Hi Sal, quick question, are the new CQI Millies (the titanium versions more specifically) out in the wild yet? If not, do you have any idea on when they'll be delivered? Looking to purchase a fluted Ti Military but have been holding out f...

BTW: I've actually got a bunch of M4 (none from Spyderco yet, sadly), and a 4V Mule. The Mule is certainly very nice, sharpening M4 is much harder, though.
