A knife sharpener solved this problem about a week ago by rolling up a bit of sandpaper, and moving it gently back and forth inside the spider hole. It only took him two minutes and the spider hole was still prominent but a bit less sharp. So no grip was lost and it feels perfect on your thumb. It ...
