Re: Knife & Watch

Where does that leave enthusiasts who bought a Spyderco Peter Carey Rubicon, a Terzuola Starmate or Double Bevel, a Centofante Memory, a Bill Moran drop point, a Bob Lum Large Lum, an Ed Schempp Bowie or EuroEdge, a Gayle Bradley 2 or Air, a Rheinhold Rhino or a Brad Southard Positron. These are on...

Re: CTS-BD1N Where does it fit in?

I think of that whole group of steels (s30v, s35vn, s90v, s110v, zdp) as stubborn. Stubborn to get sharp but also stubborn to dull. That goldielocks zone of good cutting performance and ease of sharpening is hard to get. I would classify BD1n in that zone. Interesting. I just checked my Sage 2 (S30...

Re: CTS-BD1N Where does it fit in?

My non-scientific experience so far (from UKPK) is that it’s a lot like LC200n. It doesnt hold the edge as long as others but sharpens pretty easily. Seems to get a fine edge without much trouble. I’m guessing you will like it. Thank you for this report. This is exactly the kind of subjective infor...

It’s a slippery slope my friend. The dirty dozen sounds like a good idea. Give yourself a mulligan occasionally.

You can still find those H1 with the orange handles. Bento box has them as well as new graham.

Lock stick should go away. Maybe try sharpie or more graphite. Never had one that didn’t smooth out.

Re: Serrata

Nice write up. I have had my eye on this one but not really sure I need another fixed blade. I seem to recall Sal saying that they wouldn’t do another with steel like this. Unique. Only chance to try it out.

You guys are killing me. I ordered one.

I travel enough to justify getting one, including to UK. Going this summer.
I think it’s a good enough knife to just use. Lock or no lock. Just like a caly 3 but no lock and no liners. Enjoy it.

Thanks for the photo Filoso! I appreciate it. It does look slightly darker to my eyes as well.
Looks the same color as the st nicks para 3. The para looks a little lighter because it’s got nested liners and is thinner material. The ukpk has solid thick slabs of g10.

Re: Weird spydeco

Email sent. got it thanks! Put the order on Myrtle Cool. That’s a great price for the myrtle. If I didn’t already have one I would have picked it up. It’s a nice piece too. Not perfect, but really nice. I like the blade shape. Sharpening is ok on the sharpmaker. Other sharpeners will likely be diff...

Re: G10 UKPK officially makes a return! Heinnie Haynes Exclusive

The temptation was too much. One on the way. I was charged the full price of $121. Should have made a comment in the box to avoid the VAT, but didn't. You would think they would see that it is shipping to the US and not charge the Tax. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this one. How bad was shipping? ...

I’m with dwsc on this one. To know what a knife can do, you have to use it for as many different tasks as possible. I use mine for everything from food prep to construction.
Ever notice your food tastes a little gritty? :)
Little bit woody too.

Re: Love for the Lil' Matriarch?

Yeah, i've never understood this either. I'm about as big of a Spydie lover as they come, but I use kitchen knives in the kitchen. The exception being I actually love my Dfly2 H1 PE Salt for deveining shrimp and haven't found a paring knife that feels as comfortable for this task. I think some peop...

Love the lil matriarch.
It’s a decent edc. The tis not as thin or extended as the larger ones so it works for more general tasks. Wish they would make the serrated again.
