Re: Less than 3" Blade, Deep Pocket, $40-$100 Options?
I'll pile on and agree with what the others have said. Chaparral or Dragonfly. I bought a LNIB Chap of the BF Exchange yesterday that was well within your price range. So good deals are out there if you watch for them. The Dragonfly is one of my favorites. Meets all your requirements too! The Native...

Re: Manix2 Light Weight
The Manix2 LW S110V is a great value for the money. You should get one :) ^ Enabler! :) I have both too. I bought the LW used and it's incredibly light for a knife this size. Almost feels strange to handle it after using the tank-like G10 version. I think what impresses me most is how freely the bl...

The MFF just takes a little practice. Once you figure it out and do it for a while it becomes second nature.El Gato wrote:I will admit to ignorance concerning middle finger flicking. So I checked out You Tube and found this.

Re: getting manix 2 smooth
Hmm...I've always regarded the Manix 2 as one of the smoothest knives in the catalog because of the lock, so this is new to me. Lets clarify something though.. When you say "smooth", I think about how the action in the pivot feels, not the force it takes to move the blade. So, in this way...

Here is a secret for identifying almost anything pictured on the Internet, but do not tell anyone. Put your cursor on the image and right mouse click. Select "Search Google for Image" assuming Google is your default search engine. Here is what I got for the image above: Ta da ! I believe ...

Re: Sharpmaker Failure
If I could make one suggestion that would be to go slow and take your time until you really get the hang of it. Also, when you get down near the tip be careful not to drag it across the stone and round it off. Recently, after watching some vids on Youtube, I've started only using one side at a time ...

Re: Share your Valentine's Day Spyderco Stories
I had a pretty dang good spyderco valentines day. Since me and my girlfriend are low on funds (recently out of college), we decided it might be fun to go to the flea market together and pick out gifts for each other that would be cheaper and unique. As we browsed around, I saw the little spyderco l...

Re: Dragonfly: ZDP blade into stainless scales?
Plus the stainless has the old style still - might not even fit. This is probably correct. The SS is a Dfly 1 (original) and the BRG ZDP Dfly is s Dfly 2... Find yourself someone to make some nice custom scales for a G10 Dfly 2 and swap your ZDP blade into it! ;) http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/...

Interview with Eric and Sal
Sorry if this vid was posted previously and I missed it. I saw most of the other Shot Show vids but hadn't seen this one yet. I found it interesting and thought some folks here might as well. I especially found it interesting when Eric said in the beginning that the knife he previously had on him wa...

Re: First knife for new Marine
I going to pretend that I know what a Marine going into a combat zone needs....The Native 5 will serve him well for all his daily chores...and yes he needs a big knife....and I would suggest a Combat Bowie no less than a 9 1/4" blade. That is what I'd send my son with...and I'm not over-protec...

Re: First knife for new Marine
Every solder need them : - Mid size fixed blade - Folder 3-4" blade - Multi-tool. I would recommend : Endura/Pacific Salt, Delica/Salt 1, Tenacious and Paramilitary. Don't use expensive collectible knives for military service. Black blades or uncoated : Uncoated blade in 99.9% of tasks. Plane ...
