Stainless bolsters. I would prefer wood or especially jigged bone scales but I'm not sure how they would work with the current clip design which I would like to keep. Micarta might wok better with the clip so my vote would be ivory micarta.

Rock Lobster
Thanks Wouter, I have to say I'm more excited about the Rock Lobster than I have been about any knife since the original Chinese Folder and that's really saying something as those who were around then will recall :D . It looks like the perfect camp and travelling knife. I was hoping for a frame lock...

River City Sheaths
G'day Steven, The sheath is made by Mike Sastre who posts here fairly regularly. There are pictures of more of his folder sheaths on his website . Mike has a background in whitewater rescue and really knows his stuff. The sheath performs as advertised. The fit and finish is excellent and the knife i...

Rescue Knife
The Tasman Salt is one of my favourite knives but I've never used it and hope I never have to. My Tasman resides permanently on my PFD in a River City sheath and is kept factory sharp in case I ever have to use it for a rescue. I do have a G10 Harpy which I carry in other situations where a hawkbill...

Production Ryback
There may have already been a heads up on this but I just noticed that the production version of Kevin Wilkins' Ryback is now up on the Cherusker site. There seems to be only 100 pieces at a price around US$114 less 19% if you are outside the EU. Perhaps someone with better German than mine can tran...

Great pics
Yes thanks for the fine pictures Axlis. I forgot to mention that I really like the appearance of this knife. The grooves and the silver :spyder: give just the right look for a "gentleman's folder." FWIW I don't have a Centofante III but I do have a Vesuvius (Forum model) which has the same...

No problems
I don't have any problems with the grip. The handle fits my hand as though it was made for it and the increase in width towards the blade along with the thumb ramp make for a secure grip (of course my other all time favourite knife is the Chinese Folder so perhaps I just like living dangerously :D )...

Centofante 4
I've given the Centofante 4 a big thumbs up before but now I'm going to stick my neck out and say that it is one of the best, if not the best, :spyder: 's for EDC. I've just returned from a 2 week road trip in far North Queensland with my family. Usually on a trip like this I will pack my Santuko in...

Thank you
Thanks everybody, I must apologise for not replying before but I have been travelling in far North Queensland with my family for a couple of weeks. I spent my 63rd birthday at a little place called Wonga Beach on the edge of the Daintree rain forest (the Daintree is older than the Amazon forests). I...

Facial Hair
I've had a full beard most of my adult life. Can't understand why anyone would shave when a beard is so useful to keep the wind and sun off your face. I don't shave at all, just use the clippers on my neck and cheeks once a week when I trim the rest of the beard. Only tip is to shave under your chin...

Lucky man
You certainly are a lucky man Jeff. Whenever I get a new knife (which isn't so often these days ) my kids just start arguing about whose going to inherit it  . Ah well, at least I've taught them to appreciate :spyder: 's :D .

Spyderco Rules
Congratulations Sal. This is a fantastic project and I'm so pleased that it has had such a large Australian involvement. Now if we can only stop the Japanese slaughtering whales in the name of science when it is quite clear the meat is for consumption. This season they are even planning to kill hump...

Cross Forum Post
I started a topic on PFD knives on the TopKayaker.net forum. It didn't create much controversy since most serious kayakers carry some sort of knife anyway. I made sure that there were plenty of references to :spyder: .

Bad news
I was about to ask what had happened to the Rescue Swick, and that's definitely not the news I was hoping for. I have a Tasman Salt in the pocket of my PFD but I would prefer a fixed blade especially in H1. Guess I'll have to look elsewhere .

I don't thnk that there is any doubt that the automatics and balisongs would not be allowed into the country, even if they were trainers (trainers can be sharpened). However, that doesn't mean that there still wouldn't be lots of good stuff to check out, particularly the prototypes and concept model...
