Re: What knife steel and handle are best for cold weather high altitude hiking?
I have spent a lot of time working in below freezing weather. I would look for a fixed blade with a wood or micarta handle. Once it gets crazy cold the actual steel can become brittle but if you carry the knife inside your parka that will be less of an issue. As the temperature changes the metal can...

Re: Forum Exclusive Kickstarter
How does everyone feel about Ultem? Hmm Ultem could kind of be the burnt amber. Right? Amber is pretty accurate. https://i.imgur.com/3Z65Jf5.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PkzqRhf.jpg So I keep reading and trying to build upon current ideas. So I am wondering if the knife was a non-locking PM2 or 3 would ...

Re: Forum Exclusive Kickstarter
Once again, you're talking about an entirely new model, i.e. commissioning a Flash Batch. Good luck with that. Maybe Sal can come up with a design that requires a vise and a pair of pliers to open to they can be shipped to Canada. Your wish is my command. https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=...

Re: Forum Exclusive Kickstarter
Sylsz Bowie with a lockbar insert in Magnacut with a tanto blade. Give the people what they want. Yes! But only if it has mint green FRN on one side and burnt amber G10 on the other. . . . . Sorry, Al. I like you're idea but I think you'll have a hard time getting enough people to agree. The UKPK w...

I think an Endura would be my pick also after casting my mind back to how we treated knives.

Re: That's an awesome knife... Where can I buy it?
I've noticed on social media (youtube, Instagram) Spyderco posting a lot of promos for knives they don't make any more. Past exclusives, discontinued models. And comment sections filled with, "wow what a cool knife, where can I buy it?". Definitely post those specific links here. We can u...

Some but way less than other tool steels like M4. https://i.imgur.com/gLVjvSR.jpg Hey Danke, those are some beautiful scales. Are they copper? Yes Copper. It's the Blade HQ special. In the pre-relase videos Eric said it was a nightmare to produce, everyone had to white glove them to avoid starting ...

Re: The WolfSpyder - any updates?
I strongly suspect Spyderco has no control over what's posted on an outside website.
If they did they'd be using that power to crush the counterfeit makers as job one.

Neither. The Cru-carta Manixs are the the ones to look at.

Re: Venting about Tanto PM2.. again.
I'm betting they will be relisting QC issue returns over the next week or two, so they should be coming back in stock pretty regularly. rather odd statement on a couple levels... putting aside your implication toward vendor i don't recall this tanto model having a reputation for qc issues and i hav...

Re: Will they ever have full Superblue again?
Good news; the Murray Carter Itamea knives are Super Blue. Yeah I have the petty in that series and it’s AMAZING! I’m going to pick up a couple others to have a set of them but as the other guy said I’m asking about a full Superblue blade, not cladded. I also have one of the cladded Superblue/SUS41...

No chipping. Picks up patina faster than Cruwear but nowhere near as fast as M4. https://i.imgur.com/Qi6dftd.jpg Are you using anything to protect from corrosion? Do you live in humid/salty environment? I am in a temperate rain forest type of area. So wet but not tropical humidity. I use Boeshield ...
