Re: Knifeworks exclusive drop date?
This is the one im dying to get but, I'll be happy if the preorder doesn't open up for about another month (I have no idea when it will actually be).

Re: couple questions: mule and ATR
For jimping you might try using what gun smith's use for doing cross hatching o grips, I'm not sure of the tool exactly. A hand tool will probably be the safest bet. The dremel kind of does the job too well. BTW I know a guy selling a cf dodo on the Facebook page for $250 if you're looking. I'm not...

Re: anyone have a review on the proficient yet?
Thanks Denis, I'm really itching to handle one soon. I've been bugging my local shop to order a few but he shy away from spydies for some reason, maybe not enough room to compete with the big dealers? I hope he can get one in since he offers layaway and I'm not big on buying knives without knowing h...

Re: couple questions: mule and ATR
Here are the crappy pictures he sent me. It's a done deal, one of my M2XL cf s90v (lightly used, sharpened and the peel ply polished smooth) for his stainless ATR and $20. I figured I can clean the knife up a bit anyway. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/18/237ae35496d8d6cc29f614fdf52f92bb.jpg ht...

Re: couple questions: mule and ATR
I've done my own jimping with a rotary tool and small cutoff wheel on a couple of old workshop knives. I'd almost be ashamed to post photos of them, although it definitely helped out as far as traction and feel. It was hard to keep the depth uniform and even across side to side... Exactly. I may tr...

Re: couple questions: mule and ATR
Second question, are there fake ATR's out there? I have a possible trade lined up for a stainless SE ATR with no box but I know nothing of them really other than I want one. I have not heard of any fakes, but I might have missed something. I think the ATRs were discontinued before the fakes came ou...

Re: couple questions: mule and ATR
Good idea with the cross hatching, I may try that. I much prefer the traction over the smooth thumb ramp on all my knives, I just don't want to mess this one up since the scales are very well done and my last jimping mod was pretty ugly, but useful.

couple questions: mule and ATR
First question is, has anyone found a good, clean way to add jimping to their Mule? I used a dremel and thin metal blade on one of mine and while the jimping is effective, it's ugly. Second question, are there fake ATR's out there? I have a possible trade lined up for a stainless SE ATR with no box ...

I like it but I probably would have left the tanto point myself, just because I lust for a nice spydie tanto.

My buddy just sent pics of his endura and that's an orange I can appreciate! Very nice looking knife, I'm glad it's not safety orange. I may have to snag a delica down the road.

Re: Show off your latest purchase
I have the S90V but I really want the M390 and BG42 eventually too! The BG42 is very interesting and a steel I'd love to try. I do have some experience with S90V and M390, but never used BG42. Do let us know how it holds up and performs! I am also curious. I just scored my 4th Millie. Smurf Blue s9...

anyone have a review on the proficient yet?
I'm getting sick of waiting for the CF/Ti Millie so I think I'm going to try a Proficient next after I pay a couple things off. Has anyone bought, or at least handled, one yet?

Re: Complete change of mind on frn
In all honesty I prefer the feel and properties of FRN over G10 but the looks aren't on par with "quality" G10. I'll take CF over either all day.

Re: Paramilitary serrated edge
I believe Spyderco made two Paramilitary knives with serrated edges, being the C81GS (satin blade) and C81GSBK (black blade). What are your thoughts on them? I love the PM knives and also the serrated blades, so the combo seems like a perfect match or am I wrong? You're not "wrong", in th...

They aren't all that hard to find. I recently picked up a lightly used one in s30v for $100 without looking too hard.DansGunBlog wrote:Agreed on the above... Personally I'd really love to see a Military with a serrated edge.

Thanks for the clarification Kristi. I am surprised the face isn't treated but that kind of makes me wonder if all the talk of the lock face being way better with treatment or a steel insert isn't more Internet hype than anything.
