Re: Folder designed for food prep
Being somewhat of an amateur chef at home, you need several knives depending on the task at hand. A Delica for paring, an Endura for a small chef's knife, a K2 for large slashing cuts in the ribs of an animal or cutting a very large piece of meat into sections, a Roc for a small santoku, and lastly ...

Re: GB1 vs GB2 - Now that it's been out a while
The GB2 is noticeably thinner and lighter. It's also slightly elongated which makes for better ergonomics than a thick, short knife in my hands. The GB1 is noticeably more "rock solid" than the GB2. The GB2 will flex ever so slightly at the pivot but the GB1 pivot has absolutely no play wh...

Re: Knife & Watch
This isn't a Spyderco, but it's the best single knife I've bought in recent memory, a Zero Tolerance 0392 Brown-Gold. I have several ZT's and a Hinderer XM-18, and this one is my favorite by a wide margin. It's perfect. It's really well-designed and well-made. The watch is a GPS satellite watch. It ...

Re: Knife & Watch
^ Rad! I like the '83 reproduction! :D It's a terrific G-Shock. It doesn't look like much at first glance, but under the hood it's all-steel and the band/bezel is made from a soft polyurethane, not plastic resin. So it's incredibly comfortable to wear. The design is perfect in its simplicity. It's ...

Re: Knife & Watch
These two G-Shocks, the Frogman and the GW-5000-1jf, both have steel, screw-on case backs and steel cases. Casio normally makes one or two screw-on case back G-Shocks at a time and these are the two currently in production. These don't have resin cases like most G-Shocks, which are subject to resin ...

Re: Knife & Watch
I normally wear my mechanical watches, but I absolutely love my G-Shocks. They are amazingly durable and are "their own person", so to speak. The design is purely Casio's own, borrowed or copied from no one. It stands on its own two legs and deserves every ounce of respect it gets. That Se...

A pair of Gayle Bradleys with a Citizen Promaster. This watch is Japanese-domestic-market only. Solar-powered Eco-drive, daily atomic clock synchronizing, dual time zones, micro-adjustable titanium bracelet, timer, chrono, etc. It even has an analog slide rule just inside the bezel. http://codemonke...

Re: Knife & Watch
Sure thing. You can buy them directly from Archimede. It takes about two weeks for them to assemble and ship your watch, from my experience. Archimede makes all the parts, except for the movement, which is a Swiss ETA/Valjou 7750. The watches are made-to-order depending on selected options, so they ...

Re: ATR is back!
The obvious difference that I see is the lock is a liner compression lock, not a full frame compression lock like on the original. The frame compression lock is one of the most awesome, unique things I've ever seen on a knife.

Archimede Pilot Chronograph in the style of a German Flieger Uhr. Archimede is a German company located in Pforzheim. They are relatively unknown unless you happen to know a lot about German watch manufacturers that make Flieger-style watches. They have produced some of the best German watch cases f...
