Different Styles of Serrations

Thanks to the amazing knives that Spyderco offers in spyderedge, I've been completely converted to serrations for most of my daily edc tasks. However, I am curious about the pros and cons of the different serration patterns offered by various companies.

While I feel that the spyderedge is probably ...

Re: GOLDENSTONE & Sharpmaker go Mainstream

While I'm not a bushcraft master or particularly skilled survivalist, I never go on camping trips without my smith course/fine diamond rod and my Goldenstone. It makes sharpening from dull to shaving pretty easy, even in the field.

Re: Cricket or Lil' Matriarch?

So far, it seems the Lil' Matriarch is the preferred choice. I was leaning a little more towards the Cricket, but it might be best to grab the Lil' Matriarch now before it becomes hard to find. I can probably always get the Cricket a little later anyway. Thank you all for your opinions.

Cricket or Lil' Matriarch?

The SE Cricket and Lil' Matriarch are both models I've always been interested in. Soon, I plan to aquire one of them. However, I'm not sure which one to get. They both come with a spyderedge, have the reverse S blade shape, have VG-10 as their bladesteel, and have fairly thin blades.

So, for ...

Re: Favorite "beater" or hard use knife?

My favorite beater knife is also quickly becoming my favorite knife in general. Previously, it was probably my se Tenacious or an old, slightly damaged Buck 110 I got for $10. Now, its definitely my se Pacific Salt. I don't know how I went so long without it. It cuts through everything and doesn't ...

Re: Anyone can sharpen my Civilian?

Sending it in is probably the best way to go, especially if you aren't used to sharpening serrations. However, if you want to try it, I would highly recommend the Goldenstone. It works great for serrations and has handled dozens of sharpenings on my SE Tenacious, Tasman, and Pacific Salt. That, and ...

Re: SpyderEdge: My experience

My experience has been very positive regarding the spyderedge. My serrated sheepsfoot Enuff is great for rope, webbing, and vegetation of one form or another. It tends to snag a little on cardboard, but not enough to be an issue or displeasure to use. Same for my Tasman, except it is a beast on pull ...

Re: The GOLDENSTONE: What's The Latest?

I hope so. I'm excited about the gauntlet system. Having more grits would be nice. I mainly use the goldenstone for touchups between more thorough sharpenings though, so it generally works for my needs.

Re: The GOLDENSTONE: What's The Latest?

I have the Goldenstone and love it. Its portable enough to toss in my car or pocket. It has a good way of sharpening to a decent preset angle by just tilting it. I mainly use it to sharpen my serrations and in place of the sharpmaker fine rods. The much larger flat area is great.

Re: I will now EDC only SE for 6 months.

While I can't currently take this challenge, due to getting a brand new Manix2 LW, I don't think it'll be that difficult. I EDCed a serrated Tenacious for several months, and only stopped because I wanted to try other knives. I currently always have a serrated H1 Enuff on me as my backup, and use it ...

Re: Who owns a Enuff?

I own the serrated H1 Enuff. I imagine it would be great for boating or general rope cutting. I personally use it to decent effect cutting cardboard. The sheath is comfortable and rides high on my belt, which makes it extremely concealable under my shirt. I wear it almost every day.
