Re: Could this Delica 4 be a fake?

But again - isn't this particular model rather rare today?

Re: Could this Delica 4 be a fake?

Yeah, I am thinking the same here. But is this particular model so 'worthless' that one would gain noticeably from doing such a little scam?

Any chance that it's a C11SFG?
I think you nailed it! This particular model is not in the Spyderco database, so I did not find it. But this must be it. But how on earth did an unused model that was made 2007 - 2009 end up in a k390 Box? Must be a collector's item today, lol!.

That is not a K390, not the steel, nor the color. Send it back post-haste.
That's the plan, replacement was already requested at Amazon and is on the way

Re: Sal, question regarding the Salt line and LC200

isn't there a lc200n ladybug already being made and put in a shot glass? Good catch! It looks like the case indeed. The question is, whether this is a dummy, or an actual blade (geometry, HT, etc) https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/SG01/BenShot-reg-Shot-Glass-with-Ladybug-reg-3-Blade/2348 whe...

Re: Could this Delica 4 be a fake?

I just checked - German Amazon offers (directly from Amazon) most if not all k390 Spyderco models, though mostly at higher prices then elsewhere.

Could this Delica 4 be a fake? (apparently not)

I ordered a SE Delica in k390 a few days ago directly from German Amazon (Amazon is the seller). And I received a different one (photos below) in the box - and I was not able to locate such a particular model in the Spyderco lineup or online. As the knife appears indeed new and unused - I am wonderi...

Re: Delica 4 in 2024?

Just an anecdote - got my Delica SE k390 from Amazon delivered today - but after opening the box (that stated SE k390) there was saber ground SE VG-10 Delica inside, lol. Back it goes :grin-smiling-eyes (but I actually think it looks really cool) The weird thing is - the handle has a dark green-gra...

I bought so far one (non Spyderco) knife from Knifestock and it all went well. They really have good deals on some items.

Re: Delica 4 in 2024?

I just ordered a SE Delica in k390 few days ago, delivery pending. It was 130€ on Amazon here in Germany - and that is the bottom end of the price spectrum here in DE, with the average being more like 140 - 160 € But I still think that one can not compare a price of a product made in the western par...

Yeah, Siren sounds indeed like one of the better option among folding knives.

Re: Sharpmaker Elite Edition

More angle steps would be definitely welcome though it really does not need to be a continuous adjustment (our hand wobbles more than enough). What I would love to see a lot more would be a fine (say around 1000) grit CBN or diamond rods for the sharpmaker (AND also the double-stuff once we are at i...

Re: Boning knife folder - stretch 2 xl? Which one?

IMO grind is only relevant up to a point that the edge does not fail upon an occasional contact with a bone. We are talking cutting raw or cooked meat off the bones - that is not a task particularly demanding of the grind (hollow, flat , convex, etc.) Since we are talking about a little knife (basic...

Re: New Discoveries found in 8Cr13MoV testing

Really interesting article. I was eyeing the Alcyone for a long time - really like the design. Now seeing that the 8Cr is about comparable to BD1N I may actually give it a try. Still - I would love to see the Alcyone to come out in a different steel.

Re: Handle Scale Vendors

Just to add one more option in Europe (Sweden) - a friend of mine got into scale making and did a few carbon fiber scale sets for my PM2 and an absolutely gorgeous set of pure carbon fiber scales that are extra thick (by 1mm per side) for my Chaparral Lightweight . Plus he is a super nice guy to dea...
