Re: Fixed Blade Spydies Question
I think the Sustain will be an awesome fixed blade for someone who needs a high wear resistant stainless blade with ergonic handle, but is also ok with a little size and heft. It's not heavy but it's not a super lightweight.

Micarta Street Beat. My every day carry knife. (Backpack) Love it! I'd take a look at the Junction now as well.

Re: Jumpmaster 2 and the Junction have dropped
Both should be winners. I hope people like the Junctions ergos. I wont be able to try one out so positive reviews might lead me to eventually pick this one up. However, we all know that for those who can use a leaf shaped SE H1 knife, the JM2 will be without a doubt be the bees knees.

Re: More Bolt Action Locks!
I think the bolt lock is the strongest lock based on Bladehqs youtube test. The sage 3 won by a good margin, if I remember correctly.

Re: D'Allara 3 bump -> The D'Allara revisited - 11 years later
I was not aware of the contouring, looks sweet. Will the new one have similar contouring, or flat g10?
Great post by the way, sorry to sidetrack with something slightly off topic.

Yup know how that goes, still getting over my recent split after 6 years. Keep your head up brother! Thank you, and you do the same! It's rough investing that much time and that much of yourself in someone and it still not work out. But that's just how life goes sometimes. There a lesson in everyth...

I could never tell, is this blue slightly darker than Sage 3, domino, etc?

Re: Not sharp out of the box
I have owned way too many Spydercos (at one point or another). I have probably received at some point around 40-50 (sold a bunch). They have all been screamers right out of the box. Just find this hard to believe. Sometimes there are defects, send it back.

Re: Sal, any hope for a Cruwear Native 5 in dark gray G10?
just curious, why a relatively tougher, lower wear resistance steel for a smaller knife? If a carbon steel is desired something like 10V or M4 would seem to make more sense. Unless it's more just to have the whole Golden lineup in cruwear? I'm not sure if size is always the deciding factor of how h...

Re: Bradley 2 sprint
Imo the GB folders should have been psf27 and the fixed blades m4. It just makes more sense, but I think the majority of Spyderco purchases are folders, so m4 is the more "special" steel.

Re: Schemp Rock in tough steel, HAP40, 3V if possible
yes to 3v or cruwear or 4v and yes ++ to bigger kukhuri bit still ltwt blade! Rock in 3v, CW, or 4v wouldn't need thick stock because these steels have great edge stability and toughness. There are companies making ergonimic 3v fixed blade survival knives with 2 year pre-order wait lists. I think t...

Re: Schemp Rock in tough steel, HAP40, 3V if possible
Second time that 3v has come up that I know nothing about. I love the heck out of stabbing 55 gallon drums for fun but what practical application does it have? 3V is not only pretty much the toughest steel but has good wear resistance and good enough corrosion resistance. With a certain heat treat ...

Re: Schemp Rock in tough steel, HAP40, 3V if possible
I don't think wear resistance is a big concern with a chopper but I also think that the Schempp Rock is a little small to be called a chopper. It can definitely chop but it is more of a well rounded survival knife or camp knife to me that can do light chopping, fine carving, food and game prep and ...

Schemp Rock in tough steel, HAP40, 3V if possible
Anyone interested in a Schemp Rock in HAP40 or something like 3V, M4, if Seki would be willing to use CPM steels? Tough survival blades are a big part of the knife industry now. I love the design of the Rock but VG10 seems a little chippy for a chopper, and H1 is tough, but is the wear resistance en...

Re: Will We See More CTS-204P
My CTS-204P Millie's blade micro chipped in two places cutting a heavy duty translucent green strapping band on a pallet, the very first day I used it. And, that made me sad! :( Sounds like a job for a tool steel. I think we need to know what steel to use in various situations. Some of these ...
