I use my Endura4 and Pacific Salt for food prep regularly with no problems. Hand washed of course and periodic maintenance with Frog Lube. Less so with the Pacific Salt and its H1 steel.

Regrettably, she's not a knife person. Beyond just using kitchen knives for food prep, she has no love for any of them.

Recent Spyderco owner here and first time user of pocket folders (used to edc small fixed blades before this).

The Spydie hole is, to me, foolproof and plenty fast to deploy.

I did consider Benchmande assisted opening but never felt comfortable with the complexities associated with the mechanism ...

That's going to be my next Spyderco for sure.

I was playing around with my Endura 4 the other night, trying to work on dexterity of switching grips and quick draw/deployment from pocket and at one point I thought what if you mess up ...

Thanks for the clarification, guys.

Mike,

Have to say that my decision to finally get Spydercos was, in no small part, influenced by your instructional work at Martial Blade Concepts. You make a worthy ambassador to this great brand. Keep it up.

Am I mistaken about blade thickness re Endura4 FFG vs Pacific Salt ?

Just wondering.....are they the same thickness ?

The Spyderco website mentioned they are both of the same thickness (3mm) but unless my eyes are fooling me, it appears the Pacific Salt (saber grind PE) has much more 'meat' on the blade with its thicker spine compared to the Endura4 FFG (PE).

Thanks boys.

Noted and understood. I appreciate your replies.

Yes I do have bench-stones and all knives I have used had only ever been scandi grind. I love them as a tool I use often, just that I have not actually taken the opportunity to experience more diversity, up until now.

Some questions re:- Endura4 & Pacific Salt

Hello folks.

My first post here. I got a serious case of Spyder toxicity after being bitten by one of these darn things.

Had a Delica as a gift many, many, many moons ago but did not really get into Spydercos then. Gave it away to a good home almost as soon as I got it.

Came full circle now ...
