IMHO, adding a spacer or standoff between the sides of the loop, just far enough back to clear the blade, would do a lot more to prevent flex than adding another layer of material over the loop. Not that flex there would be a real problem, just something some would perceive as one. This is what I w...

Karahawk prototype concerns?

I'm really pumped for the new Karahawk but I'm concerned about the loop. From the photos I've seen it looks like they are unsupported and would bend easily. My fears were confirmed by mr.blonde. He said that they do indeed bend when pressed hard but doesn't affect the grip. Why doesn't the G10 exten...

Am I the only one that thinks the web engraving makes this model look too much like the cheap Chinese Spyderco knockoffs that are always floating around eBay? Don't get me wrong, I like the design, but the fakes tend to use similar embellishments on their knives. Totally agree. It would be much nic...

Yeah I get the gloved thing. But I'm with you guys. I have pretty big hands so the smaller spydie holes just don't work very well for me. Maybe the matriarch 3 will have a larger hole. If there ever is such a thing.

Spydie Hole Sizes

Why do some knives have large holes and others have smaller holes? I know blade size plays a big part determining the size. But it seems to me, some knives could/should have a larger hole. The matriarch 2 is a good example where it's hole is 12mm. Couldn't it easily be at least 13mm like the endura?...

I'm psyched for the Karahawk and the lava! I've never owned a karambit before. I'm a little worried about the ring loop not having any support. Any chance they could get squeezed together and bent?

I carry a squeak at work. Works well. Small. Discreet. I think it's perfect for the small tasks I need it for throughout the day. But when I'm not at work I wouldn't carry a slipit unless I had to.

I hear people talk a lot about flicking, but am curious as to what you mean. I typically open one-handed knives quickly, with a flick of the thumb angled up (towards the pivot-end of the knife rather than out (towards the belly-side of the blade), building pressure until the detent is overpowered a...

I used to flick open my pm2 constantly. One day I took it apart to clean it and just to see the guts. I was shocked/surprised/disappointed to see the part of the blade that interacts with the compression lock was worn. Picture a piece of metal pounded flatter by a hammer. So I bought a new pm2 and u...
