Yeah, since Spyderco makes probably the besy ceramic sharpening tools around, this would serve as a field hone until one could get home to the Sharpmaker etc. Useful for backpackers, camping, hikers etc.
They make ceramics now that wont pass thru metal detectors now, so no concern there.
I often carry a Salt knife when anticipating a messy situation. It gives me much less hesitation to fully rinse down the knife afterwards. I wash my pacific salt every couple of days in warm soapy water, towel dry, Ballistol, no problem, Never had a difficulty w/ ANY KNIFE Ive kept clean and lubed ...

The tiger stripes scare the vegetables into submission, they virtually peel themselves. The 10mm blade stock makes the spine great for crushing garlic ... be a bit creative and a Strider is a great kitchen knife ;) Dude---hilarious!
