Excellent visuals on the Sharpmaker UF results.

Might I suggest the Native5? If you've been there, you'll never go back (IMO).

The reactions here seems to go to extremes. There seems to be one set of people that run to H1 as soon as any kind of water is mentioned. There seems to be another set of people that push non-stainless steels, even when there are equal or better stainless options. Sweat and freshwater immersion? CPM...

To me, and it's just me, the reason I haven't pursued the Caly 3.5 Super Blue: RUST For some reason, non-stainless steels seem OK in fixed blades, but not in folding pocket knives. (I do own the Gayle Bradley, but that's the exception... so far.) That's a personal issue. If you're OK with non-stainl...

Any Word on the Black FRN FFG Delica Release?

I'd seen that the anticipated release was in May 2012. Any update?
(For that matter, all the projected release dates, from dealers, seem unofficial.)

Waiting patiently, but this one is automatic for me.

I have both, but probably carry the Sage1 more, as an office EDC, but that doesn't mean I'd give it the nod. I will say that the Sage1 was my first Spyderco knife. Edge retention has to go to the GB. Both feel good in hand, but you would have to handle them yourself to make that call. Left-handed he...

It's too late in the game, but if the G-10 was color-coded to the steel, I might eventually talk myself into a Smurf-colored knife.

A tan PM2 in M4? A blue Manix2 in M390?

As of last week, I've got two Stretch versions now: BRG FRN/ZDP-189 and Black FRN/VG-10 (my latest Spydie). I think the desire some may have for a more robust knife at this size comes at least partially from the light weight. It is relatively thin and light. Adding some G-10 handle scales would be v...

I do look at the charts, but the only real buying factor for me there is the Chromium level. I've tended to stick with stainless steel folders, other than the Gayle Bradley. It would be nice to see a published hardness range on the steel chart, as used by Spyderco. The charts, combined with test thr...

I just bought my second Stretch, the VG-10 Black FRN version. No warped blade on this one, or my earlier ZDP-189 (BRG FRN) Stretch.
To me, there's nothing about the Stretch that requires change. I like it just the way it is, but I would like to see a G-10 version, or sprint.

The Sage1 and the Caly3 are both in my office carry rotation. I choose both. A quick forum search should produce more results on this recurring question, with comparison photos. Why is layered ZDP-189/420J2 used for the Caly3, rather than just ZDP-189? Cost? Uniqueness? Other? I don't know. Being ab...

I'd swear that the Caly3 was harder to profile/sharpen than the Stretch, Delica, or Dragonfly in ZDP-189.

Did a quick amazon search on Tormek... definitely not a cheap alternative.
I could do some damage with one of those.

Shape-wise, the Temperance2 could work, but the blade may be too thick.
The Morans would be pretty good, as slicers, but they are fairly short blades.
I'll stick with a kitchen knife...

Not really food prep, but the Centofante3 seems like it would be a very good steak knife.

Just an opinion, and probably in a very small minority, not just for also being left-handed: I don't use the clips 99% of the time. With the Delica, and anything up to and including the Caly3.5, it's in-pocket with the clip removed. Pocket knife in a pocket - sounds about right to me, rather than cl...

The Bill Moran fixed blade is what I'd call an Excellent Knife

It's not about looks, and it's definitely not expensive. It's so real-world useful that I've just ordered another one. (This time the orange handled drop point.) It doesn't get the "oohs" and "ahhs" when others first see it. It's even under-whelming from a size and appearance sta...

The current ONE knife that I'm looking for now is a G-10/VG-10 Caly3. It looks like it was discontinued not too long ago, but I haven't been able to find a plain edge version of it yet. It's not a "want at any price" need, but it's a knife I'd put in my carry rotation. On upcoming releases...
