Can I suggest something? Order from another dealer. Many will inspect the knife before it gets sent out to make sure it's what you are looking for.

Re: Question about Southard authenticity - pics added
I've had pretty good luck with Amazon, too. However, I did by a serrated Police 3 that I think was a counterfeit because it was impossible to open or close one-handed. I sent it back for a refund.

Re: work knife suggestions.
Tod,
Try the trick of brushing the lock aside. I can do it with both left or right hand. IIRC, i posted the trick over the BF thread.
Thanks for the tip, Anagarika, I'll give it a try. Hmmm, looks like JAMinn already has his new knife, but the question now is, How long can we keep this thread ...

My Enduras are always getting maudlin and weepy over Hallmark Channel movies. Drives me nuts.

New Serrata I bought for myself! I had it for a couple weeks (found a great deal) and left it in the box until now. Woo-hoo!

the Serrata, what's its intended role?
If this has been discussed elsewhere, my apologies. I did a cursory if not exhaustive search and didn't see anything.
