Phew! Glad to know I'm not the only person on the planet who doesn't like the Damascus Spyderco uses. Suddenly don't feel so lonesome any more! ;)

dbcad, thanks for the picture of the Cricket alongside the Balance. I knew the Balance was small, but could never quite get a picture of it in my mind. I do have a few Crickets, however, so your photo really helped put the Balance in perspective for me.

Love the Lum, too.

Chuck, I wanted to chime in on your photo, too. I'm color blind, but those colors are so vivid and beautiful, even I can appreciate them!

At the risk of being slightly off-topic, the more experience I have with Spydies, the more I become convinced the Centofante 3 is the most bang-for-the-buck Spydie that I own. Every time I use mine, I am amazed how well it fits my day-to-day needs.... and wonder why I tend to overlook it most of the...

Dang Wouter, now I'm thinking I need one. How do you do that every time? ;) <sigh> ken What Ken said. Convinced myself this knife was too expensive and overly elaborate for me, then you come along with your danged beautiful photos 'n' stuff! Also, I echo others' comments on your touching back story...

I could swear I saw a Klingon carrying something like that on an episode of the original Star Trek. ;)

Military vs.Police

Doesn't one of these have just one liner? If so, does it seem to affect the strength of the knife? Not sure exactly what I mean by "strength." Just overall ability to take a lickin' and keep on tickin', I guess. Thanks for any input.

If its the same problems you had before then you know what the challenges are , the diet advice is something a lot dismiss but is very true. Regular juiced carrots , blueberries , goji berries and Manuka honey all contain antioxidants that can help prepare and strengthen the system for fighting ill...

Thanks Tod Sorry I'm so slow but I wanted to give my new knife a good workout before I said much about it. I have found all that file work adds a lot of comfort when using it. Makes it have a natural feel like a tree branch in the hand. Its a way more user friendly than it looks. It fits my smallis...

It's always befuddling the people who choose designer blades to thrash through the nine circles of ****. A Condor Varan is 1075 carbon and $27. I understand those who are shopping for a specific alloy (like 3v) but otherwise paying a ton of money for a simple carbon blade is like buying the Geo Met...

Okay, I think I've figured it out: Put thumb in Spydie hole, place forefinger on opposite side of hole to extent possible, and open with thumb at 11:00 and rotate. Seems to be the secret for me.

okay, here's a heretical thought: I got a Native 5. It seems like a more serious cutting implement. Techno? Haven't really tried it out yet, but strikes me more as an expensive novelty. Just sayin'. I'm going to spend some extra time in purgatory for that, right?
