Per the OP, I own a Byrd rescue blade and quite like it. I have nothing but good things to say about the quality. 8CrMoV3 steel has some limitations versus VG-10, of course. But for what it is, the Byrd is a great knife. The lack of a window piercing tip doesn't bother me much. I believe I could ...

I bought one almost solely because it was so different from my other knives. Along the way, it has become a favorite (top five anyway) EDC for me. It's in the general range of my favorite size. It also has a tremendously smooth opening and lock up. If you're a liner lock fan at all (I am) and you ...

I own both and carry the Sage 1 a lot more, simply because it's lighter and a bit fancier looking. It's small enough to be a light carry, yet still has a very functional sized blade.
The Manix 2 is great, but carries a bit like a rock. Some days I'm in the mood for a heavier knife. Other days, not ...

I own both and agree the Para 2 is somewhat better for EDC. The size and weight difference between the two knives isn't enough to notice. And I do think the Yojimbo2 has fine functionality for EDC. However, it looks pretty aggressive to pull out at the office. Of course, so does the Para2, depending ...

Generally, I see a gent's folder as a small, non-intimidating knife. Some also see them as "elegant," which usually means handle materials that are on the nice end of the range.

The Dragonfly Salt is a popular choice and is almost unnoticeable in the pocket. However, I find the Salt 1 to be almost unnoticeable as well. And I appreciate the larger size handle in my large sized hands. And the price difference between a Salt 1 compared to a Dragonfly Salt is negligible. I own ...
