Re: Lucky that I´m a Seki-guy...

Like, consider the K390 offerings and how they were ONLY on the FRN lock-back models and I doubt that would be the case if there weren't so many people insisting that they'd still worth it, and instead of a $125 Delica or Endura in K390 we could have seen a $180 Manix 2 or Para Military 2 in K390 ...

Re: Lucky that I´m a Seki-guy...

100% agreed, especially since Seki has been getting more steel variety. Regular production K390 and SPY27 are awesome and sprints and exclusives in M390, M4, 20CV, PD#1 and more are icing on the cake.

Re: Prices OMG Seriously?

Not just Spyderco getting more expensive faster than I can increase my paycheck. As others have said, I'm buying fewer knives overall and they tend towards more budget-friendly lightweight FRN/FRCP and less G10/CF/Ti these days.

Fortunately, Spyderco's lighteweight models are in my experience ...

NOS Seki models on sale at Bento Box Shop

HAP40 Endura and Delica - $124
HAP40 Dragonfly - $99
VG-10 Stretch 1 - $108

Dang, I'd like more Rex 45 (HAP40) but those prices are too steep.

Receipts say I paid $90 for a Hap40 Delica in 2015 and an inflation calc says that's around $123 today ...

Re: 2025 Favorite Spyderco Buy ! !

I'll echo the 15V Military 2 for my choice.

SPY27 Sage 5 LW is also very, very good. And SPY27 Endela I just got might eventually edge the Military 2 but going to need more than a week with it to decide.

Re: Your best example of a Spyderco

I'd say all of the Taichung models I've owned have been very good but the Sage 5 (CF/G10 and LW w/SPY27) and Chaparral (CF/G10) have been standout 10/10s.

For Golden, an original Native 5 G10 (full liners, S35VN, big flat lock bar pivot pin), a Para 3 with red G10/M390, and a Manix 2 with brown ...

Re: K390 ran softer in Golden PM2 & Para3 ???

I've also heard that Seki may run their Cruwear (ala Stretch 2 XL) harder than Golden...I think Gabe at the Home Slice may have been talking about this, or perhaps it was a part of the discussion in the comments of one of his videos.

It would be great to get some more test results between Golden ...

Re: Black Friday/Cyber Monday/Holidays Sale!

So I appreciate the online 2nds sale and I think the mystery boxes are great for those of us who choose not to make it out there. Yes, many mystery boxes ended up being a far better deal than buying the same knives in person at the 2nds sale, but it's also a gamble on what you'll get. So it evens ...

For others looking for Seki models in SPY27, DLT appears to have a couple models (Endela, Police, Stretch 2 XL) discounted that I'm not seeing elsewhere.

Re: What is your favorite Spyderco collaboration knife?

Gayle Bradley 2, Sprig, BBB 15V (esp in the Military 2).

Would still love to see another run of the Sprig in some kind of non-stainless tool steel...ideally Cruwear or K390, since more 15V is probably out with Crucible gone.

Has there been a recent change to the MAP policy, or to how it's enforced?

Several dealers that used to advertise at MAP but would sometimes sell lower through add to cart/user login/make an offer, now no longer appear to allow this.

Re: Are there any hunters out there?

I’m always puzzled why anyone wants to ever use a folder for this kind thing. It’s an application where a fixed blade is clearly superior in every way and there’s no particular issue with carrying a fixed blade. Makes no sense.

Nah, folder in the field works fine for the kind of hunting I do ...

Are all Seki steels produced there? Even K390? I hope this isnt the same fate for MagnaMax.
Used to be the case, but not recently. Regular production K390 and SPY27 are imports to Japan, as were exclusives in M390, 20CV, CPM M4, S30V, S90V, CPM Cruwear, and probably others I'm forgetting.

So to the guys here who have multiples, if it were your $600 CRK to choose one, which one?

None. I'd probably buy more Spydercos or maybe finally spring for one of Benchmade's meatcrafter or fishcrafter fixed blades if you told me it had to be knife money.

I'm currently down to three CRKs ...
