M390 is usually 59-60.
Seems to be a good result on M390. For S90v, what HRC range does Spyderco set?

Thanks. What is the HRC range on production knives for the two steels?

I imagine your results are on target for Spyderco, but I wondering if there is a difference in the ideal range.

Interesting. Thanks, Jim. The 21% gives some perspective on the categories in your review on BF. If I recall correctly, one S90v knife came in a category lower than M390 and another s90v, due to a minor difference in RC. Prior to this post, I had not wrapped my head around how important RC and how m...

Usually, two sections of the cord are clamped and one snips in between. Just wondering whether he folded the cord over (seems awkward) to cut it or had something to cut against.

Congrats! What did you use to cut the cord against? Those things are rubbery.

Right now we're working with Chinese makers to teach them to use CTS BD1. Carpenter has laid the foundation for having BD1 inventoried in China for our (& others) knives. Heat treatment is a tad "tricky" and we're not there yet. We've been testing samples as they make them. At this time we're consi...

What models are being considered? Chef, utility, pairing, etc?

Not looking for ETA or blade steel, as those have been discussed.

I cleaned rust off the stop pin on my Leafstorm today and on the backside of the clip on my M4 Manix 2 (I know, of all things to rust on that knife).

I assumed the clips, stop pins, etc. were some stainless steel. The Manix hasn't been carried, so the rust on that clip surprised me.
