i'd go with the brown military with xhp, or the grey para with 20cp. Sounds like you're after a bit more blade than a para though, so i say top recommendation is brown millie. good luck with the decision, either way it's a win!

Yeah the szabo folder too. I don't think Spyderco ever shows their full hand in the catalog. I'm sure there will be several surprise releases this year as well!

I have a fairly extensive boxing/mma background, but nothing involving knives, impact tools, etc. Any thoughts post em up guys, love to learn a bit while it's en rout...

Wow, quite the endorsement from the cut test man himself! Is the military the only spydie platform that has used xhp?

Sharpest Out-of-the-Box Spydie You've Ever Gotten?

The recent threads on sharpening have me wondering a bit about this question. I wonder if there are any trends (ie seki city knives are generally sharper than Golden, CO knives, etc) in sharpness? With that in mind, what's the sharpest spydie out of the box that you've ever received? I've had them f...

Thanks Mike! Knowing you and the spydercrew, I'm not surprised that every detail of this knife was thought out. What some of us would see as design flaws, you see as purposeful creation. my native was my second spydie (got it about 5 years ago). i've used and abused it (short of using the blade to pry) and it has 0 blade play. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that I think it's one of spyderco's most well put together and toughest frn lockback knives. WORST case scenario is over time...
