I have a fairly extensive boxing/mma background, but nothing involving knives, impact tools, etc. Any thoughts post em up guys, love to learn a bit while it's en rout...

maybe work hardening at play? i know it's very real with the H1 steel, but not sure about the others...Scottie3000 wrote:I think all of them are very sharp, but I've noticed something. Maybe its the process of sharpening at the factory but I the knives don't hold a good edge until about 2-3 sharpenings.

Sharpest Out-of-the-Box Spydie You've Ever Gotten?
The recent threads on sharpening have me wondering a bit about this question. I wonder if there are any trends (ie seki city knives are generally sharper than Golden, CO knives, etc) in sharpness? With that in mind, what's the sharpest spydie out of the box that you've ever received? I've had them f...

I'm the farthest thing from a knife fighting guru, so it really helps to hear from you as to why it's built the w...

my native was my second spydie (got it about 5 years ago). i've used and abused it (short of using the blade to pry) and it has 0 blade play. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that I think it's one of spyderco's most well put together and toughest frn lockback knives. WORST case scenario is over time...
