Titanium scales on this platform sounds drooling good already...

Good to know. On mine, screw was extremely tightly fitted in the handle to start with, and though it would move like you wrote, the stem of the female side won't touch the head of male side when tightened with screw. In other words, the female side is just long enough to go through the handle. Maybe ...

And, if you're a lefty, it might avoided by pushing the female half of the screw out just far enough to allow the clip to be slid under it rather than removing it completely.

Did you try it? The female side goes really all the way to the other side to hold the whole thing together. If you use ...

This shows the misaligned parts after the clip screw was removed. Make sure everything is perfectly aligned when you put the screw back in. Of ...

Oh BTW, a little exercise and air blower to the pivot/lock back made the operation extra smooth.

And I LOVE the twill CF's 3D texture is amazing. I had been a not big fan of CF scales, but this changed my mind entirely.

Just received mine today.

As far as the grittiness goes, what jackthedog said is about right with mine. If you listen to it, you can hear it a bit of friction, but operation is very smooth. You can gently "flick" a tad and catch the lower jimping part with your indexfinger to safely close it right ...

Congrats on the score!

Sigh... I really wish there is a lefty model for Sage 2. For this reason, I buy left hand CRKs and it is hard to find them at least they exist. If Sal does a sprint run of LH Sage 2, I'd be all over it.

If something like this becomes available in the future, I really really hope it will be with a fully ambidextrous model like Manix 2. :)

My experience with CS has been very positive. I've bought a few from Jim at Howe's as well. Between CS, HK and Amazon, I can find the best deal of all for the given model. Chaparral was cheaper on CS while HK did a lot better job with Delica Damascus.

Speaking of which, Chaparral I ordered ...

Oh boy. I broke down and place an order on CS. $94.45 shipped with nutnfancy code.

Honestly, I didn't care for its aesthetics when I first saw it, but it grew on me big time after seeing real-life shots...

It came! Collector #30. This iPhone shot doesn't do justice at all, but the knife is oh so beautiful. The bolster is not too yellow/gold, but very subtle and classy. Contrast of the blade was cranked up like crazy by iPhone. It's not that contrasty like in the picture, but definitely got beautiful ...

I understand, typically, damascus blades need more care and frequent maintenance, in some cases, after every single handling. I know it's highly depending on the material, though.

Even though probably this knife won't be put to extremely working conditions by many users, I for one don't like any of ...

I rotate all Spydies (and 2 CRKs) in my signature daily except for the Manix 2 which is a bit too beefy for my work/commute environment.

If I have to choose one, somewhere in the range of 3 inch plain blade (FFG preferred) would be the one for me. Delica, Caly 3 and Sage series would come to mind.

I might have to give comp lock a try, but I just don't like the idea of using the lock (and the knife) with even slightly compromised usability as a lefty. If the lock is intended for right hand use by the designer, finding a workaround to use with left hand isn't ideal for me. (the knives I've ...
