Well of course everything has it's limits, but i was just thinking that if there are two blades with identical properties, and even have very similar edge angles, but only differ in geometry of the primary bevel, I am under the impression that the convexed one will outperform the regular V-bevel ...

No ive hardly touched this knife actually. Never been apart! And no the scales are not what i would call warped, but they are not parallel to each other, simply because one side is seated and the other is not.

Convexing a distal taper?

Hi, this is my second post in a day, not sure if that violates rules or not :)

So i have a habit of generally convexing all of my knives. And when i say that I mean the primary bevel will be convexed. I'll do this by using the sharpening on some wet dry sandpaper on top of a mousepad technique ...

Thank you very much phillip, that sounds fairly simple. I squeezed it as hard as i could with my hands but obviously that wasnt enough. Ill get back and see if i can give it a better squeeze on some equipment, Thanks again.

Yes mr deacon, that is exactly the issue. I can actually see that the G 10 slabs and liner are no longer parallel at that point of the knife, due to it being pushed out further at that point.

Thanks for the reply

Hey I got this digi camo satin blade para military for christmas, and I carry my Orange Manix 2 every day, so i never ever used the para 2, Also i wanted to keep it in absolutely pristine condition. I guess I never paid close enough attention, but the lanyard hole isnt press fitted properly. It is ...

single serration sharpening

I sure im like other knife people when I get a single flat spot or blunt portion on any edge i usually strop it till its gone. if its a plain edged knife. But i have this fully serrated delica and a 2 or 3 of the smaller serrations have become blunt inside. I think i tried to push cut something that ...

Steel particles

why are steel particles that come off the blade during sharpening and stropping black, while the steel is originally metallic greyish in color?

why dont the particles have similar reflective properties to the steel bar?

in other words, why do the photons get absorbed, rather than bounce off with ...

I personally would just strop by hand but you have a cool idea. Its kinda like the wicked edge strops for their little kit.

But Me thinks it might be a tad awkward to have to only pull out, as you cant push into a knife with a strop.

I dont have an edge pro but I'd defs try, I Love micro convex ...

Im thinking it would work with gloves every well.
its got the large hole, and pretty pronounced quillons and choils.
Probably not super heavy winter gloves or mittens though.

This will probably be one of the most typical spyderco forum responses but,

It's a great knife, youll enjoy it. I have the orange manix and I EDC that almost every day.

Yeah I gathered that the entire point of the video was just to meet that challenge his friend gave him.
He's not just abusing the knife for kicks, he even states that its far from the most effective way to cut down the tree, hes just showing his friend it can be done.
