Re: Does it bother anyone else...?
This thread is a little mind-blowing. I really didn't think there was such a debate on what a front flipper is. To me, it's very simple. If a Smock/Ikuchi is called a front flipper, than how would you make the distinction between those and a knife that you flip from the "front front"? :co...

Re: Does it bother anyone else...?
To me, your "back" and "front" labels should read "side" and "side". Or maybe "front" and "front". "Front" would be the part away from the clip. "Back" would be the part near the clip. The red line should be drawn paral...

Re: A Spyderco OTF?
It's been brought up a few times and, IIRC, there's never been any response from Spyderco one way or another. I'd be up for one, but only if it was D/A, D/E and PE. well now that Sal has shown a tiny light at the end of the tunnel, I'll second Deacons Double Action Double Edge but I'd like to compl...

Re: Collectors numbers?
I have a friend that I totally made into a spydie addict. After many conversations sharing my years of knowledge about spyderco and their products, he became obsessed with ebay and with knowing what he considered to be their (spydies) real value (ebay prices). fast forward to this thread, many times...

Re: Does it bother anyone else...?
Life is way too short and complicated to worry about such things. Whos worried? I just like consistency and I feel that description is completely inconsistent with all other knives I've seen called front flippers. Probably because IT ISN'T ON THE FRONT. Depends on how you hold the knife and what yo...

Does it bother anyone else...?
...that the flipper on the Smock has been dubbed a "front flipper" when it is basically in the same position as every other flipper tab Spyderco has produced. I assume it has stemmed from the design looking so similar to a lot of front flippers in that the flipper is an exposed section of ...

A Para 3 by any other name would cut as deep.

Re: No POLICE
There is the Rookie, pretty much a 'lil police. You can get stainless version, though discontinued, for not too crazy a price. If you are looking for more length that endura is the closest thing. Buffing as mentioned above might give you what you are looking for easiest though.

Re: Ikuchi - The New Kiwi?
My Ikuchi was delivered to me about a week ago and I love this knife, I think the first dealer to get on that exclusive will make a killing. would love to see some xhp but I'm not picky, just more varieties because I'l probably want to get them all. I should contact cutlery shoppe and plant the bug ...

I took this picture of a knife that is around 4,500 years old - bet it did the job just as good as anything today. https://i.imgur.com/jr7C83z.jpg Extra points to anyone who can identify the museum ---- Well maybe not QUITE as good as anything today, but I'm sure as in the words of Doug Marcaida &q...

For some reason I can't recall if sprint 2nd's show up here (?). I think I have seen posts from years past of people picking up sprints/exclusives at the seconds sales. Yep, I've bought both sprints and exclusives at the seconds sale! :spyder: They actually had the Knifecenter cruwear with smooth C...

Re: Spyderco Seconds Sale 2018!
Just FYI, the "returns" seconds (like the ones in Drahkis' post) have been way cheaper than the regular seconds, probably something like 50% off the regular seconds pricing (so a non-return factory second of the Nirvana was something like $160 vs $80 for a return second). They usually onl...
