Gayle Bradley Clip

Hi, Was thinking of getting a few Gayle Bradley clips to swap out on the Paramilitary 2(currently have a Delica clip sitting on mine). I recall a while back one of the members here modified their GB to accept a wire clip, and that process involved breaking off part of the original hourglass clip on ...

Jylong_away: The closed retention is significantly greater on the Para2. The lockbar holds pressure on the blade tang in the closed position. One of my only gripes because you can no longer fling the blade out while depressing the bar. Thanks for that. I personally actually prefer it that way. It's...

With regards to the ball lock not fully engaging, one option is to loosen the screws that hold the backspacer in place. Then open and close the blade a couple of times, and retighten while the blade is in the open(locked) position. This seems to 'calibrate' the contact between the ball and the space...

I love my Manix 2 and have been very happy with it. But I would agree with what you said about the lanyard tube. Everyone says Manix2 is a tank - it sure feels like one in hand. But the second half of the handle is only held together by the "friction fit" lanyard hole. I would be concerne...

Does the detent hold the blade closed well? Am concerned especially since they're using the new pivot bushing, and aside from the detent, there's not much friction holding the blade closed.

Could any of the PM2 owners comment on the detent pressure that keeps the blade closed? Have been wondering about that...

Wow,awesome work, just perfect.Shame you had to destroy the logo with the wave mod but the blade looks truly unique now :) I know.. :( Had a brief discussion with STR about his wave mods on Spydercos and he felt that going through the Spyderhole, which probably would have preserved the logo, might w...

Thanks! Have had to put of buying any new models since last Sept, so handle-making is helping me produce new 'toys' :) Used a dremel cutting disc and grinding attachment. Went on a wave-binge a while ago and waved all my benchmade Axis locks - the smoothness of the Axis/Ball type locks really lends ...

Digicam Manix 2 Two ;)

Just a quick post of some new scales I did for the S90V M2. Lots of tips from Bushbadger, who put up some pics of his M2 with DIY digicam scales a while ago. I promised photos, and here they are, for what it's worth! Thanks again for all the help! Ended up making some green canvas micarta scales as ...

looks good! Have been thinking of doing a tip-up conversion for the M2. did you drill the holes by hand or with a press?

Thanks everyone for the tips. I've done the basic cutouts and countersunk all the drill holes. I can tell you that the CBBL opening was no fun 'cos I didn't have a sanding attachment small enough to fit - all that hand filing..ouch! Will do the clip grooves and fine shaping tomorrow. The dremel bit ...

Hey thanks for that everyone. I've dug through the kit that came with my Dremel Stylus, and there does seem to be a bit that fits into the groove for the wire clip. Am thinking of starting a shallow groove with maybe a cutting disc, and the deepening that. Thanks!

Re-scaling P'kal

Hi all, not sure if this is the correct forum, please feel free to move if it's not! I'm planning to rescale my p'kal with canvas micarta. Just did some scales for my M2, and am now addicted to micarta! Was wondering if anyone hand any idea how to cut the grooves for the wire clip? I can't think of ...

hey, thanks for that. I ordered some Digicam G10 from halpern titanium, and a few tools from another knife making supply site. I get the feeling that even with the proper countersinks, etc that I'm getting, it's not gonna look as good as that :( Will see how it goes. the current situation with Austr...

Bushbadger, Looks fantastic! I'm looking to do something similar with my Manix 2 - possible with some canvas Micarta. Was wondering what sized bits you used to drill the various screw holes? I'm guessing you did the initial thread hole, and then used a countersunk bit on top of that? Thanks! Dave

you could always try to make your own. it's not that hard, it just takes some patience. i made these with a scroll saw. a dewalt drilldriver, and a bastard file and sandpaper. http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab148/sharpguitarist/tenaciouswithgreenmicartascales012.jpg http://i858.photobucket.com/...

Manix 2 G10 Scales

Hi, I have a Manix 2 s90v/CF, which I've been using as an EDC since I got it, and absolutely *love* it. Have done some mods to it which are floating around on the forums as well. One thing I miss is the texture of Spyderco G10 scales. The CF has the added 'flash', but doesn't seem as grippy to me. D...

I've noted that with my liner/frame locks, the degree of engagement can be altered by taking the knife apart (or loosening all the screws, and pushing the liner-side up towards the tang, with the blade partially open. Keep this tension going as you retighten the screws. It probably won't get the lin...

Well, being a paramedic you would think I would have a preference. We can no longer carry knives at work so I guess I should not post. Used to be dictated by what I felt worked best for what I used it for, cutting clothes and such. Now my work "knife" is a rescue hook...only good for open...
