I've had all my Salts reground by Krein. They touch up very easily on the Sharpmaker, and to me, they have a nice responsive feel against the ceramics. I think H-1 steel is some of the quickest steel to touch up and keep very sharp. I think being thin behind the edge is key, and that's why I send a...

My father bought me a two-blade slippie at 7 with the longest blade maybe 1.5-2". My brother got a smaller one at the same time, with maybe a 1-1.5" blade, and he's about 3 years younger. Neither of us got seriously cut (no cuts that I remember actually) or have scars from knives :)

There are probably better sites, but I usually hit up cutleryscience.com. If I need some quick info on a steel, I usually use http://www.cutleryscience.com/reviews/blade_materials.html , but the articles ( http://www.cutleryscience.com/articles/index.html )and review sections ( http://www.cutlerysci...

phaust, You're my kind of person. :D I vote for calling them at home. That's what I'd do. haha :D If it actually is a scam site, PM me because I actually found a ton of info searching (their church, property listing, etc.). I didn't want to go too crazy to make sure I didn't overstep the forum rule...

I had similar trouble with my Pacific Salt, and, coincidentally, the sharpie trick helped me. The part of the blade closest to the handle was a bigger angle than towards the tip. A quick reprofiling, and it was fine. I'd be curious to know if you have the same problem.

I don't have any of his knives and don't know of any of his lies thus I won't attack the guy for what may/may not have been said. There is quite a bit of miscommunication over the internet forums and a lack of response is sometimes seens as aversion to the truth, thus I have grown to not believe mu...

Agreed. Let's keep it clean. Preferences aside I am sure that strider knives are a great value. I buy what I like and that's the end of the story. There are enough reasons to buy a product without knocking at a persons character or reputation. Seriously? Do you all look for a shining saint of a per...

I haven't been around here too long so maybe I could be misunderstanding, but there are at least some sprint runs in the supplemental that's already up.

I think ghetto wave means the zip tie method. They move, and they look odd, thats the problem. And last but not least, they are not reliable. Yeah that's what I meant by it. Mine hasn't moved, and I use it every day on my edc (also it's never "misfired"). It did take me a few tries to fig...

Well then why not ghetto wave it? I have an endura 4 wave and pacific salt with the ghetto wave, and both work equally well :)

Hawbills customized with the wave have always looked awkward to me, since it's a straight cut above a curved blade. But then again if it was drilled so that the top of the blade has a curve matching the edge, I don't think it'd work well because the peak would push the pocket away, and you'd have to...

Here's a pdf from crucible on it http://www.crucibleservice.com/datash/dsS90v8.pdf. It mostly compares it to d2 and 440c, not s60v, though.

In html color codes, #8a0000 (deep red), #c85500 (sandy orange), #883300 (brown), #556600 (drab green). I think the first two appeal to general users, and the second two (and sandy orange to a lesser extent) appeal to hunting/outdoorsmen users. (Throw them in "HTML code" here to see: http:...

I haven't taken it all apart yet, but I have taken the blade off to clean around the pivot, and I can tell you that's easy. Everything's held in place by the other screws, and all you have to do is hold the lock down to get the blade in. Unless you drop it in the mud, it seems to me that's all the m...

I loved EDCing the Endura4 until I got a Pacific Salt. The Pacific Salt just feels so much lighter for having the same size blade, and the lack of liners hasn't affected performance negatively for me.
