That's a good question. I may know and have forgotten. I'm pretty sure the Delica and Endura came out at the same time over 20 years ago but the names escape me other than "delicate" and "endurance". BTW, have you looked at the Endura. You may like it's size over the Delica, but...

I'm not having much luck finding Spydercos locally. Walmart had a PE Native. Well, they had a picture of one, at least. No one was in the department to help me. Academy had plenty of the more common brands, like Buck and Gerber, but no Spydercos. I'll have to try some other sporting goods stores tom...

Plain edges make nice clean cuts and work well for most materials. SE blades excel at fibrous materials, rope, zip ties, plastic, and will generally do better at tough to slice materials. Kept properly sharpened SE blades will also make clean cuts. A dull serrated edge will cut better than a dull P...

I like that one, but isn't that type of lock hard to do one-handed, especially for a left-handed person?

I warn you though, they become addicting quickly and it's very difficult to be satisfied with just one or two. Some people here have every Spyderco model made and multiple copies of each. But if you're not one of them, you will find which qualities you prefer. A lot of us prefer G10 handles and fla...

Welcome and have fun! Nice BMW GS btw!
Actually, the motorcycle picture is the cover of a catalog; not me. I used to have a similar GS until some lady made a right turn from the left lane in front of me. I'm currently riding an R1150RT. :)

I noticed in another thread that some people have sent their knives in for service several times. Is that just an indication that some members use their knives a lot and are picky about keeping them in top condition? I tend to think of knives as maintenance-free, except for sharpening.

New here and thinking about a Spyderco.

I've never really been into knives that much. I've been carrying a Leatherman for many years. It's the handiest tool I've ever owned, but the blade isn't great and getting the blade out is a 3 or 4-step process. Recently, I found a cheap Taiwan knife in a box of junk that appears to be a Spyderco kn...
