My Byrd Robin 2 SE was similarly very stiff opening and closing. A good dose of light gun oil and cycling it about a thousand times over the course of 2 weeks finally loosened it up.

I'm just a newbie here, but I think that the S35vn Resilience direct from the mother ship for $70 is a crazy good deal. I just received mine and I'm impressed by the quality of it. Fluid action, tight lock up, and very sharp.

Hey @riclaw. Thanks much for the tip on the Manix 2 Salt. I have been wanting to try out the Magna Cut steel in the Manix platform. Now I will have to learn about the details of Rit dye to deal with those loud yellow scales.
