Re: What is your all time favorite steel?

If I had to pick one, Maxamet. It's just incredible.

If I had to give a list of my top 5 it'd be
Maxamet
10V/K390 (these two are quite similar)
Rex 76
Rex 45
M4

Interestingly enough, I find Rex 45 at 66-67 hrc is a totally different animal from ~62 hrc M4. M4 has a very long lasting working ...

Re: Where do you hunt for old spydercos?

Re: Para 3 LW 15V - 3 disappointments, or unrealistic expectations?

I purchased my Para 3 LW 15v as a functional tool, not to collect. I have never purchased a wrench and examined it for imperfections. If it opens, closes, locks, and cuts, it’s good with me. Re: Para 3 LW 15V - 3 disappointments, or unrealistic expectations?

Hi Jshorter, Dr. Mems,
Welcome to our forum.
sal

Thanks, Sal. It's an honor to meet you. I want to say two things here:
(1) Kudos for having the guts to make production knives from REX 121. I know the low toughness is a risk and that you were considering it a few years ago but went with ...
