Re: What’s your favourite exclusive for future models?

Wish SNK did exclusives in something besides 4V because I really like their color combo, but not a big fan of most non-stainless (CruWear excepted cuz it is on the edge of resistance).

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?

No. My location has no knife laws. In fact you can open carry knife/firearm legally. Since I moved to a smaller town I have seen three people open carrying handguns at Walmart and many more pocket clips on pants than I used to see at my previous residence. Unlike most people that I've run into in p...

Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?

I'm glad I read this thread because it may just help solve my problem. I have Reynauds. Though not the same, when I'm working in the cold, back locks become very difficult as my hands stiffen up. Compression locks are a bit easier, but I prefer a Spyderco's Linerlocks with great access in those sit...

Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?

Ya'll need to get some captains of crush or something. I've been using the Manix 2 & XL since the month they released. Had some pikals too. I have never handled a CBBL that took more than a single thumb to unlock. Here's closing my M4 my usual way and also swi ging it shut like a cool kid: http...

Re: What knife is best for…

A box cutter doesn't do this even with its short blade because you push it into the cardboard all the way to the handle, the cutting edge goes all the way to the handle. No folding knife does that. The resilience and that family of knives, plus the Rockjumper, Caribbean and Leafjumpers all have cut...

What a great way to start the year. Thanks LB! Those eye-popping colors were nice Windward.

As this was my first win ever in this forum, I hope to have lots of submissions from which to choose. Looking forward to it.

Re: I don't understand automatics.

As someone with arthritis, flipper knives have been making their way into my hands more and more because they are easier to open. Compression locks and button locks seem to be a bit easier than back locks which were my previous preference. The flippers got me looking at automatics and then I got an ...

Re: Getting Full Value from Your Blade Length

Excuse my ignorance, but what the heck is a sharpening choil? I know where the choil is on a knife. And I am aware of a finger choil, usually with jimping. But when ya'll are referencing a sharpening choil, are you specifying the blunt choil section between the sharp edge and the handle? And if so,...

Re: EDC recommendation: Native 5 LW – S30V or SPY27?

You DEFINITELY want a Sharpmaker. I have used mine enough that I have 2 for different parts of the house. I also have gotten them as Christmas gifts for family members who have knives but not a good sharpening system. Easy to use and will keep your knives sharp - the way they are meant to be.

I want a Kris https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=216 https://www.spyderco.com/pix/products/med/C104_M.jpg This looks like it touched the mirror in the Matrix one too many times. How do you even sharpen that? While it looks very interesting, it would be low on my list of desires du...

Re: What are your thoughts on the Autonomy 2?

https://i.imgur.com/PUj1eIA.jpg This photo provides a good size comparison to a Dragonfly and Zippo along with a pocket watch. My thoughts are it is a stunning knife and I am quite glad I got it. I debated for quite a while and then what the heck which is what usually happens. In addition to lookin...

Re: Mule Team Sheath Help

Just ordered a couple of sheaths from AZWELKE. The Halpern Option 4 are the 3D scales. The Option 5 are the flat scales. I had to email him to find out which was which.

Now my wait begins until they come in, but at least I have my AEB-L Mule in hand.

Re: New Sprint Run Hopefuls to Consider

How about A.T.R., Chinook, and Tatanka in AEB-L steel instead of the standard S30V? Great toughness so an acute edge can be put on them plus enough corrosion resistance to keep rust off unless you are working on/in the water every day. Couple of power locks and a compression lock to make things fun....

Re: I don't give a #@$! about stainless

Real men love capitalism, competition, and allowing market forces to determine what is best - for each person. That is what is so awesome. People who live in arid locations and don't sweat or don't carry about a little rust have options. People who sweat, live where they have to swim through the air...

Re: What do you want to see at Shot Show 2024?

Neither of those really fit my style. A guard similar to the Stretch would be sufficient. Actually, would love to see more curved blades like that instead of everything being a leaf, a cleaver, or some tanto iteration. Have never used the rolling dial on the Ichuki, but it could probably work with t...
