Re: Spymyto is hot!
Awesome feedback! Thanks for sharing. Gotta admit I'm disappointed on your feedback concerning the flipper. I was hopeful it was going to be a nice addition. Take it with a grain of salt - I only own spyderco folders as i deem the spydie hole as the only acceptable way to open a folding knife. Neve...

Re: Spymyto is hot!
Spymyto mixed in with the current SotC. https://i.imgur.com/Kj5g4DP.jpeg With only 12 hours on it, I really really like this knife. The flipper is kinda worthless - I tried it but prefer the spydie flick over the flipper. Cool feature, but removed. The relief around the flipper is kinda sharp, and d...

Re: Spymyto is hot!
These pics remind me, I gotta wait 2 more days for mine, but I when i got to handle it i remember LOVING the rounded spine and hole. I'd say this is a great feature for all gentleman's knives id like to see more of. Also liking the upgraded case a lot. The Spymyto feels like a great deal at $230 for...

Re: Spymyto is hot!
Just received mine and it’s pretty darn nice. The blade doesn’t feel as thick as I feared. I removed the flipper tab within five minutes. I also took sandpaper to the micarta scales and opened up the access to the lock bar. Fun Fact: They are numbered. Mine is 1057 out of 2000. This thread desperat...

Re: Your thoughts on the MT leather sheath?
Well I carried my K294 mule in Moab and Arches National Park for the first week of April and didn’t notice the sheath damage till a couple of days ago. Can’t carry a gun in National parks so I carried my mule in its place on my gun belt. Well apparently the rock scrambling and sitting down (sheath ...

Re: Spymyto is hot!
Most every place says it’s out of stock; is that because all the preorders are spoken for, or because they haven’t received them just yet? Probably some of both. Some sites had pre-orders, others havent. For the sites that did not have pre-orders, I heard May 3rd was the earliest anticipated date a...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
Yep, can confirm the amazon screws linked above work better than the stock screws. For that matter, any M2x.4 x 4mm screw will work. The black coated marine grade screws I might buy at some point can be found at accu-components.com for reference. But shipping from the UK is $27 so its not really wor...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
Alright, my ongoing Clip Screw saga has been resolved. I figured the thread must be metric since its a Japanese knife. The OD is just under 2mm so M2 it is. Then I counted the threads again under a loupe and found there were ~10 threads over 4mm which correlates to a standard M2x.4 x4mm So I tried t...

Re: Cruwear pitting, and repeated spot corrosion problem
Thank you very much for the insight Larrin et al. Can I do an at-home passivation to mitigate this?Larrin wrote: ↑ “Passivation” with acid helps to remove the particles.
If I can, do you have a recommended brew or method you could describe or link me to?
Thanks again!

Cruwear pitting, and repeated spot corrosion problem
I oil all my knives with 'dry silicone lube and generally don't have problems with minor corrosion or staining. (K390 has been fine for me, and is less stainless than Cru, no? It's has nice patina, but never rust) Within my first couple carries, my cruwear ayoob developed the pits seen in the pics b...

Re: Tip Up vs Tip Down Poll
Tip up on everything. Even long knives are easier to draw for me tip up. and I gave tip down a try for a few months but never fell in love. Though I hate the 9 extra holes for 4 position clips. I wish plugs were available in either black, stainless steel, or colored to match the scale. Specifically,...

Re: CRUWEAR Is now my Favorite SE blade steel
Totally agree. The SE Cruwear Ayoob is the most efficient folding matter separator I have used. The SE ayoob is a really special under appreciated knife. (Not under appreciated by JD, of course) The only knives more lasery than the se ayoob are my steep angle japanese knives. Those are true lasers t...

Re: Good second Spyderco
Delica is the superior choice, good call. The P3 is my least liked spyderco as its large in the pocket relative to its blade length, the blade is incredibly thick relative to its length making it very un-slicey, and does nothing well for my use cases. I personally dont understand why people like it....

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
Ive called thrice, and no one in warranty picks up or returns messages. Customer service picks up, but 2 people have said 'I dont know, contact warranty'. No emails have been replied to in 5 weeks. Anyone have an M2x.4 screw they can try and thread in one of the empty clip holes? Really Im just tryi...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
Anyone know the screw size for the clip screws? Or where I can buy some? (Besides spyderco customer service - i Contacted SFO 3 times over 3 weeks without response so I just want to take matters into my own hands at this point) bonus points for Torx drive instead of the worthless Phillips. I think t...
