Re: UKPK Magnacut?
I read something that they were going to use SPY27 on the Endura line. Which would be awesome Where did you get this information ? I like the idea but strange Delica and Endela are not included ? MG2 https://i.postimg.cc/ryPsP2nq/IMG-8589.jpg Found it under the casual bombshell thread. Was a link t...

Re: VG10 HRC
I’ve also noticed that many reviews/channels that are geared towards beginners often say edge retention is the best attribute of steel. I would argue easy of sharpening for the beginner.

Re: VG10 HRC
Thanks! I’ve been really surprised with the VG10 on my Delica I bought last year. No chips or rolls and the retention has been really good. Interesting you'd say that: I always have the feeling that "new" VG10 (so on my newer Seki Spydies) holds an edge longer than "old" VG10. C...

I’m usually not a fan of coated blades because I use my knives for food prep a lot but I might give this one a shot at some point. I like the black peel ply scales

Maybe. I would still be wary of Amazon. I don’t order much of anything from them these days. Especially knives. Too many scammers

https://i.postimg.cc/SKqyfQkV/IMG-8577.jpg Been carrying the UKPK lately. Great knife for lightweight daily stuff. The lock is strong yet easy to close one handed. Great blade for cutting fruit. The wire clip is great and while I’m not normally a fan of finger choils, this one is large and roomy. I...

I think the Delica is a great next choice. It’s my most carried knife. You could try a paramilitary 2 next. Been one of Spyderco’s best selling models for awhile.

Re: Visualizing the Tradeoff of Higher Hardness
I’ve never ventured into the high carbide steels. I might do K390 but that’s it. H2 would be plenty tough for my needs for outdoor stuff I think. Or LC200N

Re: Visualizing the Tradeoff of Higher Hardness
I’d much rather have toughness than edge retention personally. A rolled edge is annoying but easier for a beginner sharpener to fix than a chip It's not only easier for a beginner to fix a roll than a chip, this is true in almost all cases. In general, if you don't mind using very heavy duty edge g...
