Re: Delica 4 Real or Fake?

Looks real! The pocket clip, blade finish, blade stamps/markings, factory grind, and screws/hardware all look exactly right.

Re: Large fixed blades in 20CV

I wouldn't worry about the toughness of 20CV for the knives in question. One of my favorite small bushcraft knives is in 20CV and I've used it for years with no issues. The toughness of Elmax and 20CV/M390 is pretty close too. I've never honestly noticed any difference between them in use, and for r...

Re: Why carry two?

Almost all of my day-to-day cutting tasks can be handled just fine with one knife, be it PE or SE, but I often carry both just because it's fun to have either option available. I also live and work on a farm, so I spend most of my time at home on our property. I typically have a smaller delica-sized...

Re: Natives and Sages (warning: very esoteric)

Really interesting post! I have a lil native I carry occasionally but never realized the blade is thicker than the N5. That may be one of the things that has subconsciously prevented me from getting into the design more. I'd imagine the increased blade thickness may be necessary for the compression ...

Re: Tips for Restoring a super pointy blade tip

https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=94887&p=1718216#p1718216 I always do this by "bringing down" the spine as described in this thread. That's typically the best way to get the tip pointy again, although I certainly understand if you wouldn't want to remove the DLC coati...

Re: Poll: Which Golden Model Do You Want to See in 15V Next?

I was almost certain I'd be the only Siren voter thus far but was astonished to see one other vote for it lol.

I'd love a Siren in a high-alloy tool steel like 15V.

Re: What are your top 5 favorite steels?

Great thread! In no particular order: S90V: I love the cutting aggression and wear resistance you get from vanadium carbides (especially against abrasive materials like carpet, cardboard, etc) and the wear resistance-toughness balance of this steel is really fantastic. It's also perfectly corrosion ...

Re: Problem: Uneven Grinds (MINE not Spyderco's)

I used to run into this issue sharpening on a KME, and it was one of the reasons I went back to freehand sharpening on bench stones as well. I think you're thinking about the issue correctly - the problem I'd run into is that tiny deviations away from "perpendicular" as you describe it wou...

Re: Dream Salt Knives

I would love more Seki Salts with 1-piece FRN integral handles like the Atlantic and Pacific Salt 1. I haven't handled a Goddard but that looks like it would make for a great Salt in that category. I love the current Salt construction as well, but I have such an affinity for those old FRN volcano-gr...

Re: Your running knife?

https://i.ibb.co/6JHgdRL/20230707-232207.jpg Light weight, a strong closing bias, and enough corrosion resistance for me to get by. I'll alternatively carry a Salt, but in my climate I don't have much issue with VG-10 rusting outside or from sweat so more often it's just this one. Otherwise (especi...

Are those micarta delica scales?
They are! By 'VotixEDC'. A little expensive but they've been great.

Re: Will Police 4 blade fit Police 3 scales?

I don't have a P3 so I also can't give a definitive answer, but based on the comparison photos in Vivi's excellent review of the P4 below I'd be almost certain it wouldn't work, unfortunately. https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?t=81418 There look to be significant differences in the dimensions...
