Re: What’s your favourite Jerky recipe?

Be careful with it. It's strong stuff and too much ruins it. It is difficult to get off the smell if it gets on your hands and it can trigger mild skin reactions or allergic reactions in some. I strongly prefer the Calgon over the Old Hickory taste wise. I also make it a bit stronger if using venis...

Re: What’s your favourite Jerky recipe?

Cheers all 👍🏻 I’ll take at look at that site and see if I can find some liquid smoke (I’ve never heard of it before but it sounds delicious!).

What’s your favourite Jerky recipe?

Hi all, I’ve just discovered how to make beef jerky in my airfryer (which is much faster and less smelly than making Biltong in my dehydrator). I’ve been playing around marinating and making a few batches today which have all gone down a storm with my wife, kids and Helper, but I’m keen to hear what...

Re: Para 3 LW Slip Joint

...... Hi Gernot 👋🏻 Good points, all well made 👍🏻 for me I tend to use the PM3 for different stuff to my UKPK (sometimes I carry them both together), but I get where you’re coming from. For me the UKPK excels at food prep and light duty general cutting, whereas I find my PM3 comes into its own when...

Re: Para 3 LW Slip Joint

Hey Al, So far I don't need any Slipjoints for a legal carry, still my thoughts: - As you say a slipjoint Para 3 would compete with the UKPK ... and there I have to be honest: The win for me personally clearly goes to the UKPK: - Much thinner bladestock (and one can't really brutally beat on the th...

There was a previous thread about a double detent G-10 para 3 slip joint previously. IIRC, Sal was going to have a prototype made. I'll go find the thread.

Para 3 LW Slip Joint

As a Brit abroad i’m always on the lookout for any good slip joints for carrying when I visit the UK. I’ve been using my S110V Para 3 a lot the last few days and got to wondering if we might ever see a slip joint version aimed at the UK market. A quick search of the forum came up dry, so thought I’d...

Re: My on going salt steel comparison journal

Thank you to all for your accurate descriptions of these great tools and your experience(s) with them. My own experience with Spyderco has been limited to a rotating field of H1 Atlantic Salts, and until quite recently an addition to my quiver with the H2 variety. For over 25 years I've worked as a...

Pass for me. I'd love to see an XXL version around 4.5" though! There's so little options in the over 4" blade length category.
This for me as well 👍🏻

I’d love a handle forward choil-less one too.

*edited for grammar.

Not sure whether this is a good deal or not, but Lamnia just got a few Jumpmaster 2 knives in stock - something that has not happened in a very long time: https://www.lamnia.com/de/p/14773/messer/spyderco-jumpmaster-2-messer-fb24sbk2 Oh man... I'm tempted... :grimace :smirk I received one on Sunday...

Re: SALT Liners

As I look admiring at my most recent Salt knife addition, I got curious about the liners. Much is said about the blade material, e.g, Magnacut, LC200N, but less is said about the liners. Except "fearless corrosion resistant" and "marine-grade". Since S90V and many others are con...

Re: Any recommendations?

Spyderco Smock would probably be a good choice for arthritis hands since it’s a button compression lock and can be opened via blade hole or flipper tab. Very well made in Taiwan. Unfortunately, the blade length is 3.4” and goes for $228. I second this - the Smock is very easy to open and close. The...

Re: Military 2 CF s90v sprint run

I don’t know what it is about S90V, but it just seems to take a wicked edge with only a modest effort. My Yojumbo CF S90V is a delight to use and live with, so I can only imagine this will be a similar kettle of fish.

Re: High carbide/hardness serrations??

I’ve had great experiences with all of the SE knives I own from Spyderco. K390 was a pleasant surprise on my SE Police (insert pocket chainsaw quote here 🤪), but so was LC200N and H1/H2. I’m really keen to try SE Cruwear but missed the boat on the Ayoob sprint, so fingers crossed there might be more...
