Would you rather have a knife with a thin BTE (.015") or a thicker BTE (.025") but with a better steel for what you are going to use it for.

The knives I'm talking about are the GB2 and Maxamet PM2

Definitely hold out if you can. Getting them in hand is a great option if available. Your tastes can change as you use it if course. But get them in hand when possible.

I have all 3 and I voted GB2. It's cutting performance is on a whole different level to the other two. The detent is light but easily fixed if you are a tinkerer. Lots of info on this forum but I just pulled mine apart and slightly enlarged the detent hole by hand with a diamond burr designed for a...
