I kind of feel the same way. I used to be a big fan of them, but now I'm starting to prefer designs with "alternative" choils or no choil, at least for knives under 6" or so.

Mine came off centered as well. It was bad enough that it was definitely causing issues with closing it; the blade itself wasn't touching the side but the area back behind the pivot seemed to be scraping on something.
