Sage 5 LW Salt liner coating coming off?
Hello fellow Spyderco aficionados, hope y'all are doing great on this lovely Friday. This afternoon I disassembled and cleaned my Sage 5 Magnacut after about a month of use and noticed some interesting things happened to the coated liners.
The coating came off around the pivot area of the liner ...

Re: Sage 6, WHO'S EXCITED
Would love to see the blade tip on Sage 6 to be buried deeper into the handle in the closed position. On the Sage 5 Salt the blade tip is almost too close to the handle, wouldn't take a few sharpenings to expose the tip.

Really happy to see sage with more flavors. The sage serie is so overshadowed by para 3 and native. Sooo getting the Spy27 one

Re: I don't think the Stretch 2 is boring.
The only thing I have against the stretch is how shallow the blade tip sits in the handle. Won't take much sharpening to expose the tip

Re: What was your first Spyderco?
Mine is a Bill Moran drop point, still loving it, both the sheath and the knife, they're just perfect in almost every way. Hoping to see a K390 version though, finger crossed

Re: Smooth jimping vs "hard jimping"
I've yet to experience the importance of having aggressive jimpings on blades as I mostly pinch grip my knife. But the saw like jimping on PM2 is hurting my index finger when pinch griping at the front finger choil. The jimping on the Sage series is a happy medium for me

Re: Newbie looking for steel recommendations
I would recommend the Sage series.
I carry a Sage 1 the exact way you mentioned during summer time when doing sports. The deep wire clip carries wonderfully IWB, the thicker elastic waist band on sporting shorts post no problem for the clip.

I'm more curious in terms of rust resistance. Did the K390 on your dragonfly holds up the wash and dry cycle?

Re: Getting out knife from dress pants
What I do to retrieve my knife out of my pocket is thumb goes inside the pocket rest on the scale, then wrap my index finger around the lip of the hourglass shaped pocket clip. Never had any issue removing my knife from the pocket even when I'm seated down.

Re: What knife do you carry clipless?
The clip provides a griping point when operating the locking mechanism, so even if I don't use the clip for it's intended purpose, I keep it on the knife.
