Re: Advanced Sharpening Systems On The Horizon?

I personally would like to see a system that works with regular, upright flat stones from any company, instead of upside down proprietary stones and hones.

Re: Police 4 (K390) HRC?

I'm looking forward to the FRN model in K390. sal Any chance of a run of Partial Serration? I am in the minority for liking them, but I do find them to be quite useful, and use my secondary edc (Gerber EDC) for when I would need edge close to the handle. I think I got one of the last run of ComboEd...

Looks more like FRN than G10 to me, and it is different from the 2018 catalog version.

Re: Sal...Coarser Stone?

Hi ... spoons, Welcome to our forum. The technology is not there at this time to make a coarser ceramic that we currently make. That doesn't mean that it may not be there in the future? When I first designed the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker, I also designed the Golden Stone. The Golden Stone was a portable...

Re: 2018 Blade Show VIP Passes

PASSES ARE ALL TAKEN

I received a reply today saying all the VIP passes were taken. I sent my request email within hours of the posting of this thread. Thread is still open and unedited despite saying it would be closed when they were all taken.

I am very disappointed.

Re: K390 in Golden made spydies ?

if the Police 4 came in ComboEdge partial serrations I would get one. But if the plainedge is selling poorly, it seems like there would even less of a business case for a comboedge, which is even less popular as i understand it.

Secondary Niche For Fish Hunter: Kayak Litter Pickup

I can recommend the Fish Hunter for an additional niche: litter removal while Kayaking. To elaborate: Today I participated in a kayak based litter pickup and got to use the Fish Hunter that I purchased for this exact use. It excelled at many tasks and did so much better than any other knife in my si...

Re: Migration to smaller knives....didn't realize

I ended up switching EDC from a matched SpyderEdge / PlainEdge pair of 1st gen FFG G-10 Police to a 60/40 Military. Serrated edge is just so useful for sawing through things otherwise too big for a plainedge blade of that size.

Re: A question for Mr Glesser and Spyderco (Clipped Manbug)

I have been toying with the idea idea for a while myself, letting it percolate through the brain. Here is what I have come up with so far. Due to the small size, there is really no way to have both a clip and a lanyard hole without making the whole thing larger, and totally changing the design. So l...

Re: Ethnic Series Questions...

There was an ulu-esqe retractable blade prototype at the 2002 Blade Show. They described it as having a blade wider than long, possibly allowing to it to pass some of the shortest legal blade limits. It had an s curve that gave it a hook at one end. As for fixed blades, the Maddox has an ulu shaped ...

More Tapered Tangs In The Future?

Will there be more tapered tang fixed blades in the future? I am quite pleased with what the tapered tang does for the Darn Dao. I wish the Southfork and Sustain had tapered tangs. Here's hoping the WaterWay will have a tapered tang. Edit: I just remembered the waterway will be designed so ELU or th...

Agreed that the round hump looks nicer, but you lose some functionality with that particular delete, unless you can regrind the lost jimping. Leave the hump alone.
