Re: Frankenstein titanium UKPK?
Doesn’t exclude using the FRN models as donors though! Here’s what the HH TiTech ones look like, very similar in finish to the original S30V model Ti handles in fact. HH also sends along two phosphor bronze washers since the FRN models don’t use them. Installation was pretty easy, and this setup is...

Re: Spyderco backlocks : why is the stop pin an exception, instead of being the norm ?
Another manufacturer's solution pulled out of the previous thread on the topic which I linked to above. It appears to be implemented without liners. http://i.imgur.com/203gD9I.jpg Personally, I find most of the current Native 5 models to have no rock and really don't need stop pins. I do have one ne...

Re: Spyderco backlocks : why is the stop pin an exception, instead of being the norm ?
... An internal stop pin also requires metal liners--especially if it is a functional element of the lock triangle. Linerless knives with G-10 scales (like the Native 5 and Native Chief) or FRN scales (Like the Native 5 Lightweight, Native Chief Lightweight, Stretch 2 XL, etc.) can't use internal s...

Re: Spyderco backlocks : why is the stop pin an exception, instead of being the norm ?
similar thread topic: https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?t=60932 quote from Sal in that thread: Hi Free2game, Welcome to our forum. Internal stop pins can offer some advantages in some situations. We don't use them on the Native 5 which hasn't shown any play. the Native lt.wt. will use the sam...

Re: New Tenacious Frame Lock in D2?
I find lightning anodizing unattractive. I’m sure some folks like it. I find it to be an odd choice. I feel similarly. I also think Fat Carbon looks silly. I think it's an attempt to appeal to the Civivi/CJRB/Kizer fans. Maybe. However I think fat carbon jungle wear and green dark matter are pretty...

Re: UKPK in Spy27 & G10 at Shot Show
I love how Eric is dropping different preveals in different vendor shot show videos. It's kinda brilliant and is driving me to go find them all. It's really driving engagement, at least for me. I like both the FRN UKPKs and the G-10 ones. I have a SPY27 FRN one. I do prefer the full spine G-10 one m...

One of the vids showed off a blue Sage 5 lightweight in SPY27.
Evidently SPY27 has also been allowed to leave the good ole USA.

Re: gray G-10 CPM-Cruwear... delica?
I ❤️ my Cruwear Stretch 2 XL. I love the full liner G-10 Seki knives and would love a(nother) cruwear Delica. It would be an insta-buy. However, I would politic for a G-10 Cruwear *Endela*. There have been various full liner Delicas, but just the one pakkawood Endela. The Endela needs a fancier vari...

Re: What’s your favourite exclusive for future models?
I am partial to both the Hap40/ Pakkawood I keep forgetting about those Hap40 exclusives. They look beautiful. I like the new black pakkawood they are doing , but would prefer the laminated Hap40. They seem to go on sale around Black Friday. I need to keep an eye out. Maybe they will do a Stretch X...

Re: What’s your favourite exclusive for future models?
I voted knifecenter because I like cruwear and black g-10 is fine. I picked knifecenter over knifejoker and SNK because knifecenter does satin cruwear.
I really look forward to knifejoker and 4v SNK stuff too. Forest green is my favorite G-10 color.

Re: New Steel Testing Method! My wife and the cupboard.
... My wife loves an SE blade as (and I believe this to be verbatim) “the wiggles hide where I’ve broken bits off”. Initially I thought she had done something horrific to the cast of the Australian kids TV show, but then she showed me her violated SE Tenacious. I’m not sure which was worse. .... I ...

Re: NFL 2023-2024 Season
Jets beat the Patriots. I'm glad I missed it. This was one game I could not miss! It was Mathew Slaters final game as a Patriot and (I pray it’s not) it could’ve potentially been Bill Belichicks last game as the New England Patriots head coach. .... Nick, you're a brave man. That weather looks terr...

Re: I don't give a #@$! about stainless
I think that Spyderco's making all their Magnacut models as salts was a bold and super smart move. Salt knives seems to be the right niche for Magnacut. According to Larrin's own articles, Magnacut has a great balance, but not more edge retention than S30V (for example) nor more toughness than Cruwe...

Re: Lil' Native Clip Options
Ripps Garage Tech makes a milled titanium wire replacement clip. It's SUPER nice. It's not deep carry. That and the LynchNW wire replacement clip are the only options I'm aware of. However, I replaced the short wire clip with a longer wire clip off of a Sage 5 lightweight (I think anyway. It was in ...
