Re: Efficient Clip Question

The original Efficient had an hourglass clip. That was later changed to a deep-pocket wire clip. That rolling change first affected the satin-finished knives and took a bit longer to be implemented on the black-bladed ones. All current production has deep-pocket wire clips and product photos of tho...

I've gifted three and they all had hourglass clips.
Got it, thanks.

Re: Efficient Clip Question

Anyone own an Efficient? If so, does it have a wire clip (like the Insistent and Emphasis) or an hourglass clip? I’ve seen photos of it with both styles of clips, so I’m very confused… Was there a CQI change made somewhere along the way? Where did you see these photos? https://www.spyderco.com/cata...

I already own one Spyderhawk, but I wouldn't mind another one in my collection. An Endelahawk certainly sounds nice!

Re: Big Byrd?

I'd be interested in something like this too. The Cara Cara 2 is a good start, but what I'd really like to see is something like a larger version of the Raven 2, which feels (slightly) better in hand than the Cara Cara 2. Maybe they could name it the Byrd Rook? I remember Sal said the Raven 2 is not...

C189 Roadie... Weird point of entry, I know, but it blew the doors wide open for me.

Re: What are yr favorite knives for yardwork, gardening?

I haven't used it for any gardening yet, but I imagine the SpyderHawk would excel at many gardening chores, as would hawkbills in general.

Re: Anyone EDC Fixed Blade

I carried an SE A.R.K. around my neck as a secondary knife throughout most of last winter. Barely noticed it, but it was there when I needed it. I swapped the ball chain necklace out for some paracord and found that to be more comfortable.

I don't actually own one, but I've gotten to handle one before and the best way I can describe it is a folding Mule. That is to say, I like it a lot!

I'm not big on compression locks, but I love the Spyderhawk, so I'm sure I would enjoy a SE Superhawk. Count me in.

Re: My own theory about why the scales of the Native 5 FRN are bulky

I think discussions about ergos are a bit weird when we are talking about an object. It won't change so it's either fitting or not. The Manix 2 LW I have isn't the greatest fit for me compared to the Native 5 for example. It's our hands that should have better ergos ! If anything, this thread says ...

Re: Byrd Ergos? (why isn’t the cara cara chamfered)

I carried a byrd Cara Cara 2 for about half a decade after I lost my endura3 and couldn’t justify spending money on a new knife. Over All they are excellent knives as users, I would go as far as to say I can’t justify buying a VG-10 spyderco over a similar byrd model. I have however noticed that th...
