I left budget out initially, but in the same $5-600 range of the other two I have ideally, but for the right piece I could consider more. Over $1k would require something really special/unique though.

Since you say you're going to get a Hinderer at "some point", have you considered a Medford? They definitely have some unique scales to go with your Spartan.

Thanks, Sir. The reason I said it was possible he was thinking of Rex121 is that is one of the only steels I know of that's even crazier than Maxamet for edge retention.

Most of my EDC stuff is stainless (S30V,35VN,45VN) or semi-stainless (D2), steels. I have some CPM M4 but I tend not to daily ...

Both are great steels but they are very far apart in some performance characteristics. Rex45 is my favorite right now. Maxamet might be hard to find, S110V is pretty close to the performance of Maxamet and much easier to find.

Maybe he meant Rex 121?
